Check key battery
Dose the key turn in the lock you could have a worn door lock where the plastic link bar on the back of the barrel gets a bit worn and just dosnt pull the link bar up enough , you realy need to remove the door pannel and really look at whats happening to the lock from inside the door checking the movement when you turn the key to unlock position you may even take up any play on the link bar to the latch lock by putting a slight bend in the bar to take up the slack
We shortend the link bar by bending a z into it works perfect every time now

SOURCE: keys lock in trunk alarm will not allow trunk switch to lock
The solution is to pull out the back seat to get into the trunk. There are two bolts holding the bottom part of back seat (bolts located between bottom and top sections). Then pull out bottom section of back seat and you see the hinge for the top section, remove the bolts and then you can lift up and access the trunk. It's not that hard.

It could probably use some penetrating lubricant once opened; don't use WD-40 as its properties are great for penetrating but not for long.
There are a number of products, most available at auto parts stores or the chain hardware stores that have more durable lubricating properties.
Now, place one hand firmly on the trunk and 'bounce' the trunk lid while you try turning the key.
It may take a few minutes until you hit it just right but I have never failed to open a stubborn trunk or hatch this way.
If it still doesn't open, you may have been lightly hit in the rear of the car (in a parking lot for example) that has minutely distorted the sheet metal where the stationary latch is mounted.
In this case, you may have to hammer (with the side of your fist) the area below the lip of the trunk while trying to turn the key.

This alarm system can only be 'disarmed' using the keyless remote programmed for this specific vehicle. Press the "Unlock" button on the keyless remote -- this resets/disarms the alarm system. If you do not have keyless remote for this vehicle, get one and have it programmed at a Hyundai Service Center. Problem solved.
