Turn over but won't start got gas new battery ran hot once but still won't start

Nothing by either party was said about the starter. The battery and wires can all be in great shape, and if they are and the owner hears a clicking noise when trying to start it its a pretty good bet they may have a starter that's locked up.
One good 'ole trick on those starters. If you can reach the starter, a couple of sharp rapes with a hammer will have it starting again, then you know it time to replace the starter.

Your idle air control can be of non operational,a good throttle body cleaning will help you , also a open EGR pintle that didnt close properly that leaks vacuum into the engine can cause the rough idle

If it turns over but does not fire then it is prolly the fuel pump. Running them dry is not healthy especially with the ethenol in todays gas.

first thing to do is to add a relay in your starter. relay should be connected to the solenoid of your starter then giving it addition amperes to let the starter motor running.
if adding a relay does not do the trick. replace the carbons bushings in your starter.
another problem should be your ignition timing. if you are experiencing hard starting only when the engine is hot, then your ignition timing is overly advanced.
H Mkawaauhau, If the engine is turning on the starter but refusing to start, you may have one or more of several problems. I believe you should have a diagnostic scan carried out on the vehicle. the problem would seem to be the crankshaft or camshaft pick up sensor, a fuel delivery problem or the on board alarm anti theft unit.
