95 Silverado backfires thruogh throttlebody

1995 Chevy Silverado 166,000 miles 5.7 two wheel drive backfires through throttlebody when under a load or getting upto highway speeds.  Especially after short periods in slower traffic.  I have replaced cap, rotor, plug wires, plugs, fuel filter, and coolant temp sensor. I was told it could be a part in the distributer slipping and causing the timing to be way off.

Thanks Dave,  I'll see if I can get a scan tool or tell my mechanic to try it.  The problem is sporatic and has happened more recently since the weather has warmed up.

It sounds very likely that it is going lean. Could be a bad Mass airflow sensor or a fuel pump, maybe plugged injectors. The first thing to do if you can get your hands on one, is to put a scan tool on it that reads live data and go up a long steady hill while you are watching the O2 sensor voltage. It should toggle back and forth across .5V, if it remains below .5V while you drive, then you know it's not getting enough fuel. If so, check the fuel pressure to spec. If it is good, then the pump is fine and you're chasing the other two.

4 wheel drive stopped working

My 95, years back went out under warranty. Had it replaced by the dealer and it went out again the next winter. It was replaced again under warranty. I was told by the service manager that the actuator needs to be install a certain way or they will fail again. You might try checking with a Chevy dealer or on a forum for more answers.

Cant locate my fuel injector in my 95 chevy blazer

Your '95 blazer does not have fuel injectors as such. Fuel delivery is accomplished by way of a " throttlebody" injection system. This unit is mistaken for a carbuerator but is systematically controlled through several electrical connections by the on board computer.

I have a 95 caravan 3.3 which Didn't start when I got it. All it does is backfire in the intake and when it runs it is olny on a couple of cylinders. I replaced the feul pump and coil and it had the same...

Have you replaced the fuel filter (located along the fuel line from the tank, just ahead of the rear wheels)? Also, have you made sure that the fuel pump is properly grounded? Does the fuel gauge work? If you have a loose or bad ground on the tank, neither your fuel gauge nor your fuel pump will work properly.

Engine Performance problem 1997 Chevy S-10 4

According to my book, the first code is the brake control rough road sensor, and P0302 is a cyllinder #2 misfire. Check the gap on your plug, and make sure the plug wire is on all the way. Give the boot an extra good push. Backfiring or misfiring under load is always caused by poor ignition. You may also have a faulty plug or wire.

Just bought 95 chevy pu 5 speed manual looks like

Please ensure that this has gear oil because some of these actually ran regular dexron tranny fluid. If it is gear oil a standard 80w-90 is a good all grade gear oil to run in it.
