Sounds like the trans range sensor or it could be internal trans problem. is the trans shifting ok? if not, it might need an overhaul. the sensor might be something you can tackle but it's on top of the trans right below the air filter housing. it the sensor that the shifter cable is connected to. you'll have to have it in neutral to install it as the sensor has line up marks on it.

Code p0705

code p0705 refers to transmission range(TR)sensor/switch--PRNDL input--circuit malfunction===causes--wiring--TR sensor/switch---ECM/TCM
I would have the TR sensor/switch checked out first and then the TCM module.

I have a servive engine soon light on and i have few codes i want to know about: P0401 INSFFICIENT EGR FLOW DETECTED, P0705 TRANS RANGE SENSOR CIRCUIT (PRNDL INPUT)

For the code p0401 (1) EGR tube could be clogged with carbon (2) EGR valve is faulty (3) the EGR valve may not be opening due to lack of vacuum.As for code p0705 check the neutral safety switch for loose connection and or wires frayed or bare touching to ground.More than likely you need a new neutral safety switch.

I have a 01 ford taurus whit p0705 transmission code and i have no idea what this mean

Code P0705 - Transmisson Range Sensor Circuit (PRNDL Input)
The transmission range switch detects the selector lever position and sends a signal to the TCM.

The park/neutral position (PNP) switch includes a transmission range switch. The transmission range switch detects the selector lever position when the shift lever is in the N or P shift position and sends a signal to the Transmission Control Module (TCM).

Symptoms
- Engine Light ON (or Service Engine Soon Warning Light)

Possible causes
- Open or short park/neutral position switch circuit
- Poor park/neutral position switch circuit connection
- Misadjusted park/neutral position switch
- Park/neutral position switch may be faulty

I have a 2001 kia rio and my check engine light came on so i got it tested and the code was P0705 and the guy told me he didnt know what that meant ha so can someone help me is this a serious problem whats...

P0705....Transmission Range Sensor Circuit Malfunction (PRNDL Input) . probably means that that a plug may have come off or a wire got cut thus the circuit to the Park , Reverse, nuetral , Drive or Low had a "malfuntion". Ot it couldbe the sensor itself on the tranny.
