1991 jeep cherokee laredo won't start

My 1991 jeep cherokee laredo isn't starting' nor is it turning over. This only happened two days ago when i went out to start the car and it hesitated twice before finally starting up the third time. I let the car warm up for 10 minutes and turned it off to run back inside the house, when i came back out, the car wouldn't start or turn over. I only bought the car two weeks ago but this isn't the first time its happen. The first time it happened i thought it might the starter so i taped it a few times thinking that the gears were stuck after a while it finally did start. A few days later i took the starter off and got it tested it tested good. Upon reinstalling the starter i found loose wireing connected to the starter that was fixed thinking that was the problem. Today i took the starter off checked it again along with the fuses and battery and its still not starting. When i turn the key lights do come on and i can hear a faint clicking or tapping. need help thankyou

You can test your signal wire to the starter by having someone turn the key to start while you put a test light on the signal wire at the stater. If there is no signal on the light then there is a problem with the sending wire from the ignition.

A few days ago, I went to start it. It started fine (has a new battery) but then without me turning the key, it starts again and I hear a pop. I turn off ignition. It would not start again after that

Check the inside of any cover you removed, there is often a legend (key) molded into the cover.
