2004 Infinity QX56 - when moving with the driver

2004 Infinity QX56 - when driving with the driver seat in various seat distances from the pedals, the driver seat clunks and the left side of the seat travels feels like it gives out and surges forward about an inch. It seems related to a moving right-hand turn (body in the seat pressed to the left side?) but is not re-creatable at-will. The dealership is having trouble locating a missing tooth in a gear/track/motor and I don't know how the seat slide is configured to "help" them.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

SOURCE: One side of driver seat does not move smoothly or at all.

Unfortunately you need a new seat track assembly. I'm an infiniti tech and have replaced MANY of these tracks.

SOURCE: Driver's seat unable to move forward or backward

There are plastic gears connecting the track to the seat assembly. Whne one of these strip the seat will only work or move to one side. Infiniti does not sell a simple fix. You are looking at buying an entire seat assembly complete with the module for all the electronics. It will be at a cost of around $950 - $1000. Once that is in, Infiniti must program the seat to the brain of the car, only then can you reset your memory settings.

Try your parts store for this one. They have a wide range of different brake pads for your vehicle with prices going up for the better ones.

I use Wagner on my 1997 Cadillac deville that do not require shims as they are built in.

These are fool proof pads.

Good luck to you...

SOURCE: trying too move automatic seat forward again/ only left side move

I had this problem on my G35/04 and it was the nylon/plastic gear that engages the metal worm drive of the motor (the metal drive grooves the softer nylon gear). Dealers will not sell the gear they wanted to replace the whole seat assembly for big bucks. I searched for gears on google and found a shop that rebuilds speedometers for classic cars (Odometer Gears-1-757-593-3478). I sent them a good gear so they could replicate and it worked. I think it was $50.00, they should still have the mold. Good luck.

What is eap rely on a 2004 Chevy trailblazer

adjustable pedal relay Adjustable Pedals System Components
The adjustable pedals system consists of the following components:
• The adjustable pedals position switch
• The driver seat module
• The adjustable pedals relay
• The adjustable pedals motor
• The brake pedal position sensor
Adjustable Pedals System Operation
The adjustable pedal system is controlled by the adjustable pedal switch or the driver seat module and operation can occur only while the transmission selector lever is in the PARK position. The adjustable pedal assembly is moved forward or backward by a motor, which is fixed to the brake pedal actuator with a drive cable to the accelerator pedal actuator. The adjustable pedal motor is operated by 2 motor control circuits from the adjustable pedal relay. In an inactive state, both of the motor control circuits are closed to the ground contacts within the relay. The relay coils may be energized by the relay control circuits from the driver seat module or the adjustable pedal switch. When a relay coil is energized, the motor control circuit is switched to the battery voltage supply contact. The adjuster motor is bi-directional and the direction of the pedal assembly travel is determined by which of the motor control circuits is closed to battery voltage, while the other remains grounded.
The driver seat module monitors the location of the adjustable pedals using the brake pedal position sensor. The brake pedal position sensor is supplied with 5-volt reference and ground circuits from the driver seat module. The position sensor signal circuit is referenced from ground within the driver seat module. The signal voltage monitored by the driver seat module ranges from 0.39-4.58 volts and is determined by the wiper location on the resistor within the position sensor. The position sensor circuit voltage level is used by the driver seat module to determine the position of the adjustable pedals when storing or recalling memory position settings.

2004 infinity qx56 it accelaratets when shifting down

Check under Automobile.com site for product safety conditions. The NHTSA will show complaints and resolutions on this site. The technical service bulletins are numbered. If, after you enter all the info about your problem and compare it to past reports, you can get the number of the Resolution to the Dealer. Use every bit of ID the site shows for the solution.

Many times it shows if this is a free repair. You can also REPORT a problem to the NHTSA for investigation.

This can be catagorized under unintended or runaway acceleration. It may be listed under Engine, Controls, or under which part is causing the problem.

In general, it is odd to pickup speed while downshifting. The lower gears would cause the engine to rev up without making the car move faster. If this happens only when the Cruise control is being used, discontinue using the cruise. It is the only part that will open the throttle to maintain speed.

There is an Intelligent Power Distribution Module (IPDM), a Fuse & Relay Box, a Fusible Link Box, and a Fuse & Fusible Link Box, all of which are located at the right side of the engine compartment.
Then there is the Instrument Panel Junction Block, which is located behind the driver's side kick panel.

Where is the fuel pump located in the infiniti 2004 qx56

The fuel pump is located behind the driver seat on the 2nd row under that seat. You have to cut a piece of the carpet out to get to it. Why I have no idea why Nissan built a vehicle where you have to cut the rug out to get to a part that will need to be replaced one day.

I have water in the headlight of my 05 Infiniti QX56

at times the water in the headlight may not be related to it not working. Check the socket for the light. Check the wiring and the relay for loose connections or exposed wiring. Water may enter exposed wires causing it to fail. Check also the rubber seals. It may have corroded due to heat. See if you can have silicon seal any opening on the glass part of the headlamp.
