The system requires venting several times after replacing parts, there is a vent port on the 3.5l at the thermostat housing, crack it open to vent air out after running,

When i start my 1998 toyota corolla , the heat indicator rises to nearly quater, then after i drive for 10 miles it gets down . is this normal?

check raidator cap for wear (rubber seal) or it may need to have raidator flushed or themostat replaced.

Car was overheating replaced the thermostat now the heat isnt blowing hot and the car is over heating worse it's a mitsubishi galante

Could be that fan is not kicking on. check and make sure it is connected. could also be a vapor lock. some cars require bleeding water system and if so most bleeding screws are located around thermostat housing. Call local autozone and ask if your car requires bleeding water system....NOW the overheating could be from fan not kicking on and the best way to find out is to turn on defrost and if fan is working it will kick on automaticaly. If it does kick on then this shows that fan is working fine but this does not mean that fan is running properly. The fan is controlled by a heat sensor which kicks the fan on when motor reaches a curtain heat range. If this sensor is not working it will cause car to overheat.... Could be also that waterpump is bad.Not all waterpumps leak when they go bad.Sometimes the impeler on the waterpump which is what moves water through the system simply stops working and this would cuase it to overheat.......hope this info helps and good luck...Please rate my post and if you need more info fill free to contact me...Need to find where leak is coming from also for this is more than likely the problem........

I have a 2004 Kia Sorento, i get head when moving only, is it the Heater or the Termostate ?

Check out your coolant level first, and it may need to be filled. There has been a known promblem of the coolant reservior leaking on the sorento and causing low level of coolant, and causing no heat because coolant wasn't pressurize enought to the termostate until car acutally moving or in high rpm.

The fan does not come on until the eng is approx 225f or the a/c is on. When th efan is on and the engine is hot, ck the temp of the air blowing through the radiator, it should be HOT, if its cool or luke warm, the raidator may be plugged.

if you have a blown head gasket you would have a miss
the waterpump can look good and still be bad
after you replace the thermostate fill the radiator and leave the cap off start the car let it get too operating temp and check for flow if you have good flow shut the car off and and put a pressure terter on the raidator this will tell of and leaks
