SOURCE: Low Coolant Light Staying on

This car has sensors on it. If the coolant tank is full and the system is working properly, then one of the sensors is bad.

Have the cooling system presure tested to make sure you have no leaks. If test is good, then look to the sensors.

GM has different systems for each car depending on configuration, so it is hard to point to the one that may be bad.

Why is the coolent light on

There is either a low fluid condition in the coolant resevoir under the hood (check cold) or the sensor has failed. If the system is low, add a little coolant until the resevoir is filled and then turn the key on to see if the light reset. If it does not, replacement of the sensor will be required.

I have 2 problems, the low coolant light comes on and the air conditioning blows warm, does it have a leak in air conditioner and where can I add coolant (what kind?); and the security light comes on and...

Low coolant is detected by a sensor inside the plastic resevoir tank. These things lie, so if the resevoir has plenty of coolant, it's probably a dirty or faulty sensor. If you can't see coolant, add it directly to the resevoir. As for the A/C, you can purchase an A/C pressure gauge or complete check and fill kit at a parts store and follow the directions for using it. If the pressure reads low, with the car running and A/C on full blast, add refrigerant until you hear the compressor turn on. Check your gauge again. Once you have it to pressure, you should be good to go. If it never gets there, you have problems. If it gets there and stops working again days later, you have a slow leak.

The coolant light remains on even after the radiator has been replace

have you checked the plug in at the coolant resevoir? if good, have you checked the fuse panel for blown fuses? low coolant light comes on because the sensor n the coolant resevoir tells the computer says there is not enough fluid in your resevior, the clear tank under the hood that connects to the radiator. you may have a bad plug in or a bad resevoir. i suggest you check fluid,,if good ,,check plug in,, if good,,replace resevoir,, hope this helps!!

Low coolant light coming on

if the coolant level is ok then replace the low coolant light sensor, they are a real problem with these low coolant lites, the sensor is located in the side tank of the radiator, it is held in by a spring clip, very easy to change, u can also try leaning it 1st before replacing that often does the trick.

External radiator resevoir full - radiator not and car is cool

Yes there is supposed to be a suction if the hose is hooked up correctly. When the car cools all the way down it is supposed to pull coolant back in to the radiator from the resevoir. If it is not woring you may not have it sealed right. Make sure the radiator cap is all the way on correctly. You may have to push down and turn it some more. It has to have a seal to create suction.

Low Coolant light stays on

Check you coolant resevoir. The low coolant switch is located in the resevoir so if it is low on coolant there, the light will come on. If it is full, it could be that the switch is stuck due to gunk build up in the resevoir. Hope this helps you out
