SOURCE: windshield washer does not work. nothing comes out

Possibilities include a faulty washer pump / fuse , or a clog in water flow between washer fluid tank and nozzles.along with everything in between

SOURCE: Power steering pump

No loud whinning is normal, nor refilling so often; you most likely will have a bad steering pump, but before replacing it check for fluid leaks left on the ground afternight. A broken hose may have provoked damage to the pump by making it work without enough fluid causing it to overheat and damaging the seals. Check for the bad hose first and have it replaced. Good luck

Washer pump won't spray , got current to new pump

Jerry. You said youcleaned the hoses? Did you also clean the sprayer ports? They maybe clogged. When i had this problem I used my air compressor and blew air through the hose and ports. This solved the problem. Lastly did you check to see if the tube running from the washer tank is not clogged?

My windshield washer is not working correctly.

Assuming you have washer fluid and you can hear the pump with no flow at the main line I would guess the turbine has separated from the pump shaft.

How to trouble shoot a broken windshield washer system

Activate the washer fluid switch and listen to see if you can hear the pump making noise. If you can, the try disconnecting the washer fluid hoses and blowing through them to see if they are clogged. If they dont here are some steps to diagnose a faulty pump.

Fist find the washer pump, should be located at the bottom of the fluid bottle.
Second disconnect the harness from the pump, and hook a test light to both terminals.
Third have someone operate the switch for the pump and look to see if the light comes on.
If the light does come on then the pump is most likely burnt out. Replace the pump and you should be good to go.
If you don't have power trace the ground wire and make sure it is connected, then check your fuses and make sure none are blown.

I think my van has a clogged windshield nozzle. The wiper fluid comes out but doesn't even squirt high enough to hit the windshield.

First try to clean out the squirter nozzles.Take a very small wire, sometimes a staple works great, and stick it into the nozzle to clear any debris. Then try to spray it again. If this didn't solve the problem and the debris is cleared, then you either have a weak or blocked pump, which is located on the washer reservoir itself.Hope I could help!!! Rate me accordingly!! Thanks!

Windshield Washer Pump

IF YOU CAN HEAR THE PUMP RUNNING AND ARE NOT LEAKING FLUID THAN YOU MORE THAN LIKELY HAVE A CLOGGED LINE OR YOUR NOZZLES ARE CLOGGED. SIMPLY PULL THE HOSE FROM ONE OF YOUR NOZZLES AND SEE IF YOU ARE GETTING FLOW. IF NOT TRACE THE HOSE TO CHECK FOR BREAKS OR KINKS.

If the pump still makes noise, you may just have clogged nozzles, have you tried those yet? Also, if you have windshield cleaner left over from summer, it may have frozen in the lines.

Windshield wiper fluid wont come out..

It does not take very much dirt in the washer fluid reservoir to plug the nozzles for the windshield washers. check for dirt in the reservoir and clean out if need be. If you are in below freezing temperatures make sure your washer fluid is good for below freezing. mike
