2nd row bench to bucket seat conversion

How difficult would it be to swap out the 2nd row bench seat for a pair of bucket seats in this vehicle? Would special conversion brackets be needed? Welding? The bucket seats would probably come from another make/model. Just looking to see if this could be a cost effective alternative to trading in for a model that offers this as a stock option. Thanks.

Yes, fabrication of the necessary adapter brackets are required, and this will include welding.

FRONT SEATS

There are 2 bolts in the front, and 2 in the rear.... You'll probably have to pop off some plastic trim to get to the rear bolts....The yellow harness goes to the side airbag. The airbag light will probably go on if you drive with it disconnected, which might disable the system...Disconnect heater connector..

REAR SEATS
Locate the two bolts that are directly below and in front of each rear seat cushion. Unscrew both bolts...Locate the bolt that is attached to the bar holding down the rear seat.... Find it in the crack at the center of the rear seats between the back and seat cushions.... Unscrew the bolt. Locate the bolt that is attached to the bar holding down the rear seat. ... Find it in the crack at the center of the rear seats between the back and seat cushions. Unscrew the bolt.... Push the seat in and then pull it out to release the seat from the bar.... Locate the two bolts that are still holding the seat in, near each of the rear doors.... Unscrew the bolts. Pull the lever on the passenger side in the gap between the back and seat cushions to put both rear seats down.... Grab the seats by the headrests and lift up both sides to remove the seats....

Hello. I was wondering if you can put a bench seat in my 2008 Chrysler town and country in place of the stow away bucket seats. I really need the extra seat.

We do not sell and install seats.

Can I convert my 2nd row seating from two bucket seats to a 3 seater bench in my 2009 Kia Sedona?

How are the middle row safety belts supposed to function properly? my used van is showing signs of character.

It depends on your seating. My Windstar has bucket seats, and the very back is a bench type 3 seater. The middle row normally has 2 shoulder/lap belts. It really depends on the perks that the original owner opted for upon purchase. For instance my driver seat has a button on the right side to adjust the lumbar area of the seat.
Checking CarFAX will let you know if the vehicle has ever been in a major accident. Most people do not realize that after an accident, seat belts and their anchors should be replaced.

I want to make my 1999 Mercury Villager Sport into a cargo loader, with just the front seats kept and the rest of the back empty. How do I remove the other 3 seats? So far, I can't get any of them to budge...

the middle seats come out easily. There are 2 handles you have to lift up on each of the bucket seats, they are in the front of the seat down by the seat tracks. After you lift them, tilt the seat upward in the front and rotate them backward. Then lift out of the hooks. Each seat is held down by 4 hoks.

The 3rd row seat is not designed to come out xcept by a technician. It does slide forward all the way up to the front seat. It has a sliding seat track.
First, lift the T handle under the seat cushion on the left front side of the seat. This will allow you to lift the seat bottom up all the way to lcok in the full up position.
Then, lift the lever on the same side of the seat and slide the seat forward. It will stop in 4 places.
Rear -Rear
6 inches forward of that.
another two ft to the second row seating position
full frward against the front seats.

Pleae rate as fixya if this helps.

I am interested in buying a new 2008 Chevy Suburban 1500, 1FL, LS - this is a fleet vehicle. It has all the features I desire except it does not have a third row seat. I need a third row bench seat that...

My experience with this in the past was yes, but it had to be done by factory authorized, installer, obviously for insurance liability issues that may arise. If you check,(don't have to buy) for price and availability from GM dealer, they will probably advise you of any such requirements, and if they don't say anything, you ask them. I know with my experience, with Chrysler, and basically same idea, I could pay for the seat, but it would be shipped to installer, to gaurantee done by them. That way everybody's rear was covered.

2004 toyota highlander -

Most dealers will not perform this service, as they become the "final stage manufacturer", and what that means is THEY would be responsible for any claims (liability) that may arise from an accident. Toyota does NOT recommend adding seats, nor do they recommend changing seat types (buckets vs bench). Note that the vehicle is designed with the specific seating positions in mind. To add a 3rd row seat, you would also have to install the proper seatbelts, and secure the 3rd row seats in a fashion that meets NHTSA specifications.
In short, and I apologize for this, please refrain from doing it.

I don't think the seat can be split! I am looking for '01 -02 LT or SLT center row buckets, if they will fit the floor brackets - my dealer cannot determine if the attachment is workable! (Someone, please help) These seats recline (not fold flat) and would allow plywood to be carried vertically between the seats! I have already installed floor brackets and belts for a '4th row' in my 8 passenger to carry plywood on top of the seats, but it is 'mickey mouse'.
