2004 Santa Fe, needs to have the engine replaced at 199,000 km. Just stopped while driving on the highway, about 85 km/hr. My valve head broke off at the head and all the pieces ended up in my oil pan. This has my mechanic baffled as to why this would happen with no warning, no lights, nothing????? Very costly to fix, debeated over buying something else, but the rest of the vehicle is in great shape. Seems a shame to ditch it so early.

02 Santa Fe no power driving up a small hill it takes long to shift gear but when driving on a flat highway it runs and shift good pls help

Easy fix my friend. It's a bad EGR valve causing this. That's an Exhaust Gas Recirculation valve and part of emission control that nobody ever thinks about. It's bolted onto the head near the back and has a small vacuum line running to it. Replace it and you'll have all the power the engine will give not just on flats but on grades and hills also.

2005 Santa Fe M/T, had it towed to dealer as it stopped dead on freeway. Tech says timing belt jumped and was oil soaked from leaking crankshaft seal. Checked engine compression and got none. Then found...

Maybe. The broken belt would not cause the leaking coolant, but it could have damaged some valves when it broke.
It may cost more to fix the engine than to replace it. You would need an actual estimate for repairs to know for sure.

2004 Hyundai Santa Fe loses exceleration

This is usually caused by failure of the accelerator pedal position sensor, but can also be caused by the throttle control motor. I would test the sensor first. If it fails, replace it. If it passes, che k the wiring and connectors for continuity to the pcm and throttle. If wiring is good, replace the throttle controller.
