What is the firing order on a 2015 Subaru Forester 2.5i

The firing order for the 2015 Subaru Forester 2.5i is 1-3-2-4. This means that the spark plugs will fire in the following sequence: first cylinder, third cylinder, second cylinder, and fourth cylinder.
The firing order of an engine refers to the sequence in which the spark plugs ignite the fuel in the cylinders. The firing order is determined by the engine's design and is important for ensuring that the engine runs smoothly and efficiently.
In a 4-cylinder engine like the 2015 Subaru Forester 2.5i, the cylinders are typically numbered from left to right, starting at the front of the engine. The firing order for a 4-cylinder engine is typically 1-3-2-4 or 1-2-3-4, with the spark plugs firing in a sequence that alternates between the left and right sides of the engine.

My 01 Subaru forester 2.0 is misfiring and smells really rich. It happens at idle and is really bad under load and at lower revs. It gets better but doesn't go away when the car warms up.

Sounds like you need to replace the oxygen senors. They control the fuel and the timing. The sensors tell the computer weather the engine is to rich or to lean on fuel. I hope this helps you fix your problem.

Coil issue

code p0301 and 302 refer to cylinder I and cylinder 2 misfire detected.--- causes--engine mechanical fault--wiring---ignition/ fuel system--injector--ECT/MAF sensor ---ECM I would have had a fuel pressure test done as miss fires from injectors not getting enough fuel would have been a better starting point
Run the fault codes again to see what else has happened.

How often should the plug wires and cap be changed

You only need to change them if you are having problems such as miss firing engine etc.

2000 subaru forester ignition coil wiring

Are there any other possible problems, or you are just not receiving spark at all now?

The coilpack could be dead and just need replaced. If you have a voltmeter or a test light, check the wiring on both sides of the coilpack harness to make sure it is receiving power.
I don't believe Subaru used ignitors past '99, but if they did, your should be located on the firewall behind the throttle body. Make sure it's plugged in and receiving power.

Coil packs do go bad from time to time. I had to replace mine in my
'98 Impreza a while back.

Goodluck!
