Did your car come equipped with prolock? prolock starter kill can become defective and prevent your car from starting. or it can be your ignition switch. I had a defective ignition switch and the van 's fuel pump would turn on but no start...

SOURCE: 98 PLYMOUTH GRAND VOYAGER WONT START - BLOWS ENG FUSE - HELP

You have a shorted engine harness, this is not common but it does happen, heat and engine movement cause damage to the harness, this is most common on hi miler cars and vans, the only way to fix it is to start by looking anywhere the harness rubs, that is where the damage occurs.

SOURCE: no power to fuel pump

What you need to do is drop the fuel tank and put a new fuel pump in it. I would drain the gas and put new gas in after you get the pump changed.

SOURCE: is there a fuel pump relay on a 1996 grand voyager

There is not a "reset switch" in Dodge vehicles, at least of that year. Look for a faulty relay. Look in your user manual. Should be in one of the distribution (fuse) boxes.

Donna, you need to check to see if there is fuel getting to the engine to determine if it's the fuel pump. The 1st and easiest check, is to turn the key to the 'run' position, but do not turn the engine over, if you do, go back one 'notch' on the key. You should hear a 'whirring' sound coming from the fuel tank, which would be the fuel pump going on. This sound will only last a few seconds, unless you start the vehicle (which you can't). If there is no sound, it could be a bad pump, BUT 1st check the easy stuff: fuel pump fuse, fuel pump relay, ASD relay or other related circuits. So start simple, and go from there, good luck, let me know what you find.

93 Plymouth Voyager will not start, the Fuel Pump isn't whirring when the key is turned.

You should always hear the pump. Check the electrical connections after you check to fuse.

Suzuki1999 grand vitara will not start

the fuel pump is only designed to run until it reaches a preset pressure. once it reaches that pressure it turns off. One way I know to check it without dropping the tank is to remove the fuel filter. Put the fuel line in a gas can so you don't get gas all over. turn the key on if the pump keeps pumping fuel then it's not the problem. at that point I would buy a new fuel filter because it may be clogged and the reason no fuel is getting to the engine and they are inexpensive and a good idea to keep changed anyway.

1999 mercury marquis wont start, turns over fine, think its the fuel pump, not sure.

Check the fuel pressure at the injector rail.Or hook it up to OBD II code reader, which should give the average fuel pressure.
Do you hear the fuel pump run for a second or two when you first turn the key to `ON' position? That means your fuel pump reset hasn't tripped(for collision purposes, but sometimes needs reset).
When all else fails, go to Ford and they will hook it up for 50-70 bucks and tell you what is wrong.
If you can give more details, post back and let us know. don-ohio (:^)

1998 Plymouth grand voyager ignition won't turn

I have had this happen on my 98 Voyager. Just have a new key cut. This new key will sometimes cure the problem. The older keys get worn out and won't unlock the ignition. Try this before a much more expensive and time consuming change of the ignition.

1996 plymouth voyager won't start replace cam sensor and crank sensor still won't start just turning over

Back to basics. You need spark, fuel, and compression (manifold vacuum). Before you replace any more parts, check to make sure that you have no stored codes. If your check engine light is on, retrieving the codes will point you in the right direction. If you have to, tow it down to your local Autozone. They will scan it for free! If the check engine light in not on, the problem is most likely the fuel system. So, locate the fuel pump relay under the hood next to the driver side front fender. Remove it and CAREFULLY remove the top by lifting the two clip tabs with a small screwdriver. reinsert the relay and crank the engine while observing the relay to verify that the relay pulls min. That is, that the contact moves. If it doesn't, check the fuse and the relay itself. (Swap the AC clutch relay, they're the same). If it does, try manually closing the relay with the key on while someone listens at the open fuel opening, (take the gas cap off first) If you don't hear the fuel pump running, it is probably the pump. Please note that I own a 97 voyager that is very hard to start, and I have often had to manually operate the fuel pump relay in order to prime the engine so that it will start. Hope this helps!

Can not hear fuel pump when i turn the key engine only turn over no start

You probably need a fuel pump if you don't hear it run when you turn the key. Try having someone bang on the gas tank under the car with a baseball bat while you try and start it. Sometimes the vibration wakes up a failing pump one or two more times before it's really dead and gone.

Have a 97 grand am that cranks but wont start. changed the ignition switch. injectors are working and has spark to plugs. need help this is my only car

Do you hear the fuel pump make a whirrring sound when you turn the key to the on position ? You should be able to hear it. If not , the fuel **** is not working. Check the shutoff valve and see if the reset button is up. If it is up, press it down and try to hear the pump again when you turn the key to "on\'. If the shutoff is OK, but you don\'t hear the fuel pump. Replace the fuel pump.
