Cassette will not accept the tape

Every time I try to put the cassette in I can hear the mechanism trying to take the tape but it will not go in. I tried looking into the tape area too and it seems like the left side (Closest to me) might be down too far. Will taking the faceplate (I think that is what it is called) off and trying to push the side up help or will I just break it more?

SOURCE: Tape Deck does not recognize tape adapter. Does not eject.

Just an idea .. In the past I have removed hungry decks from my cars. A lot easier to work on / dismantle than in dash. gently remove the casing and you should find the tape deck a separate component within the whole unit.Hook up via alligater clips to battery to power up and alligater clips to a speaker lead to hear. saves a lot of stress. Usually done for chewwed up and swallowed tape. results are good, surprisingly.

Cheers !

SOURCE: 94 T-Bird - Passenger side window

can you see the window assembly.. you should be able to see the gears for the window crank as it sounds like the gears are stripping... You should be able to get to the bolts that are holding the window assembly to the door.

1983 Cadillac Sedan deVille radio cassette player problem. The cassette player gets stuck in forward position and makes a clicking sound but no music. The tape does not turn. Belt seems to be fine. It will...

If the belt is fine then the pinch roller must work to pull the tape with the capstan working.
so please open set and get glimpse to see if the pinch roller is engaging. If not the loading mechanism is not working. you will need to see if the reel drive is also working. So unless the mechansim is checked there is no question of the sound coming out.
So see that the loading engages the pinch roller to pull tape and the reel drive to gather the winding, if not reset loadding mechanism .
However if the tape moves and there is no sound then the head preamp, the tone amp or the output amp can be faulty. You can use a signal test to confirm the section.
credit if this helps

Car cassette player

sometimes to play a cassette, you got to put it in the oposite way to the tape run, depending which way your player is set inside. Try this. If it fails the load spring may be bust, new one can be got at a motor factors.

1995 Saab 900S Left speaker doesn't work when using tape player

sounds like the cassette adapter has a bad channel, or didn't fully seat into place. Try removing and re inserting, to play the other side of the adapter if the wires will allow it. Then auto reverse the cassette deck to allow a different portion of the cassette head to be used for the signal. Those cassette adapters are poor quality, and put alot of time on the mech.
