I change the time on the clock but when I turn the motor off and restart, the time goes back to the original time. How do I get it to keep the time after I change it?

Yes, GMC has left a key operating step out of the Owner's manual. IMAGINE THAT!!! After following instructions from manual and looking online and finding no answers, I accidentally set my clock correctly. Set the clock according to the manual but when you have finished setting the clock,THEN HIT THE BACK BUTTON TO SET THE TIME.

Does cigarette lighter work you most likely have a blown fuse in the memory of clock it is part of the stereo but has 2 fuses that function it, power and memory. If its in the radio/clock all presets on radio usually go out to, look for blown fuse.

2001 Dodge Stratus R/T 3.0L V6. Motor ticks on top end while running. Every couple minutes the ticking goes away and then comes back. Timing belt is original, vehicle has 145,000 miles

A ticking noise at the top of the engine suggest either sticking/worn valve lifters or wear on camshaft lobes.

An oil change won't cure any mechanical wear, but it certainly won't do any harm either..

You can also try adding an additive to the oil. There are additives for 'quietening valve train noise'. The alternative is to remove the camshaft and lifters for inspection/replacement as necessary.

With 145, 000 miles on the clock your engine has done well - but no engine doesn't wear or suffer from the occasional fault. Maintenance such as frequent oil changes negates many problems, but wear and faults do develop.

You have the original rubberised camshaft/timing belt on a 2001 car with 145,000 on the clock? You're living on borrowed time. If that belt snaps your car is history. Scrap value. Change it...

Why does my clock and radio have to be reset when i turn the ignition off and then back on? my radio goes to safe mode and the clock reads 12.00

Hi. Please recheck the fuses. There should be ( I think a 5 amp) fuse that supplies the dash cluster and radio power to keep the clock and preset channels active when the ignition is off.

Clock and date settings

Depends on the type of BSI ( computer under steering column) and type of the display, using peugeot software you can configure date and time, or you just need refit the original radio for few minuts, set date and time and take it off again and put back the non original stereo again, that will take only 15 minuts

Need timing belt diagram for 1989 Dodge Grand Caravan 3.0 motor

Any of your Chilton Manuals should have a diagram that will show you how the timing belt goes on; however the timing mark on the left top sprocket is around the 12 o clock area with the alternator bracket having the mark at the bottom to line with the sprocket. The second spocket on the right top ( again at 12 o clock) uses the timing cover, inner side, to align the right sprocket with. The botom sprocket uses the oil pump which has the timing mark that aligns at 1 o clock with the mark on the bottom sprocket. Important note: when repacing the belt keep in mind that the water pump must be replaced at that time. It often can be the reason for the belt breaking.
