2006 jetta tdi radio not working after jump start

Car wouldn't start yesterday...had to be jumped. Radio was working...and now it's not. No power at all. It's not in Safe mode and the radio card number can't be entered since the radio will not turn on. Any ideas? Fuses look ok under hood.

The battery was jumped, then I had it replaced with a new one. Car runs fine. The radio just won't come on now.

I jumped started my 2004 jetta and now my radio des not work. I checked the fuse (#42) on the panel but its ok. could it be the fuse on the back of the radio? what's the possibility of that?

Radio and lights on radio do not work. The number 20 fuse is good.

Battery is dead... have the battery and alternator tested for functionality

  • Anonymous Mar 04, 2009

you may have blown a fuse... check the fuse in the interior fuse panel under the dash. if your car has a cigarette lighter check to see if it works as it 's usually on the same fuse

Did you find a solution to this problem? I have the same issue, fuses are fine, dealer says the radio is fried but they didn't even try to connect it to another car. It's hard for me to believe the radio is dead when both fuese are fine.

2012 VW Jetta TDI battery won't hold charge and car only clicks and won't start

You need to charge your battery up more. Either get a battery charger or leave the jumper cables hooked up for a longer period of time.
Your battery was probably completely dead. You might even need a new battery...they really don't like to be completely drained.

I own a 2000 VW Jetta. Radio completely Dead

Have you checked the radio fuse? You may have blown the fuse when you jumped the car. The fuse box should be out under the hood encased in black plastic.
