SOURCE: I need to replace broken driver side door handle.

In the auto glass trade there are very basic tools used. Most door panels are held on with a few hidden screws - behind latch handles under them, look any where that the door receiveds pulls or pushes. after all the screws are out 4-6 then the panel will either lift straight up to come off or pull straight out if it comes out then there will be some push plugs also holding that hold the panel in place and you could use a flat forked pry bar to pop them loose. Just take you time and you should be fine.

General instructions for door panel removal; Door panels are attached to the door frame with clips such as the one above. The ribbed, screw-like part of the clips are inserted into holes in the door frame around the perimeter of the sides and bottom of the panel
Auto Repair Mechanics How to Remove Car Door Panel

The video shows details of door panel removal. First locate all the screws on the door panel, usually at the door handle and door rest. Look for any hidden screws that may be covered with small plastic caps.

After all screws are removed, the side and bottom clips need to be popped out of the door frame. You can purchase a set of trim tools to pop the clips, or you can use flat blade screw drivers and a flat putty knife to pop the clips out. Sometimes the clips break, but they are replaceable. Once the sides and bottom are loose, the top of the panel is loosened by lifting up on the panel, disengaging the panel from the top track on the door frame. Be careful of wiring connectors, which will have to be disconnected to completely remove the panel.

How to remove sliding door inside panel of Mazda MPV

1. Work with slider in open position. It helps if you are on a slight incline so that door stays in fully-open position and won't slam shut on your fingers.
2. Remove inner handles and door panel:
a) Inner handle. Remove the inner handle first. You can't see it too easily but a wire clip about the same thickness as a large paper clip holds the handle to its shaft. It's shaped like an upside down "U" so it needs to be pushed straight up. Press the panel outward around the handle and you can just see the clip. Use a small thin screwdriver to locate the bottom tips of the clip and push it up. You may have to alternate from side to side but it will pop off. Grab it with a pair of needlenose pliers if you have to. The door handle willl now slide off - just pull it towards you.
b) Power window switch. Remove power window button by squeezing hidden tabs along the sides of the button. Again, you may have to push the panel outward a little and pry the switch to see the tabs. Wiggle it a little and the button will release. Pull it out and unplug the wiring harness.
c) Door panel. There are several plastic buttons which hold the panel on at the bottom and up the sides. Use a plastic putty knife to get behind panel and pop it out of the holes.
3. Once all trim fasteners are released, grab the door panel at the bottom and pull straight up to release it at the top. You may have to give it a quick upward tug to get it to release. Push the power window button wires through the mounting hole. Look at the panel buttons to make sure that all of them came off with the panel. If not, remove the remaining ones from the door and put them in their respective slots on the door panel. (Trying to re-attach the panel without the buttons installed on the panel will be frustrating.)
4. Outer handle removal.
a) Unclip the handle lock button / bar by turning the small tab and pulling the bar out of its slot. Hard to describe here but you'll figure it out once you see it.
b) Remove three bolts which hold the handle on the door. Note that one bolt is accessible from the outside of the door along the front jamb.
Replace handle and reverse the steps above.

Notes: Check the locking mechanism and make sure the door opens and closes before you reassemble the panel. Remember to orient the inner handle the right way before you re-attach its spring clip. (I've attached it upside down and it won't work!!!) . Also, be sure to feed the power window wiring harness back through the mounting hole before putting the panel back on.

1998 Ford F150 supercab - passenger side door won't open

Get inside the backseat remove two screws that hold the side window. Gently pull the top plastic panel out all around and the panel will come out. It is held by about six clips. Then remove the screws and a nut off the bottom panel. These are all at the top of the bottom panel. Remove a couple of screws thatholds the inside doorl latch. Once all out then simply lift up on the bottom panel and it will come out. Remove the plastic sheet that overs the side door underneath the panel. Now you can see the whole mechanisim for the unlatch. On my truck the problem was with the top cable going into the latch mechanisim. The top cable came loose, out of the slot that held it in place. I pit it back into the slot and made a metal clip to keep it in place. If your interested I can add picture of the clip. Reassembled the door and was done in about three hours.

Easy way to remove power window motor and install new one on the drivers side of a 2001 ford windstar

you have to slowly take the side panel off but make sure when you do that you put it back the same way you took it off just look at the panel if its not off yet there should be either small bolts or plastic thumb screws that you need to take out of panel but make sure you do this slowly so you remember how it goes back. You might be able to use just a standard screw driver to help pry off these plastic thumbs but do this slowly.

Is there any certain way to remove the driver's door panel

There's a few tools you'll need:
panel removal tool $7-$10 (forked)
if you have hand crank windows you'll also need a window crank removal tool
screw drivers - philips and small straight
Note pad and pen or pencil
zip lock plastic bag
May need:
socket set
allen and torx drivers

Use the note pad to make notes where everything goes.
Open the door all the way.
Use the straight screw driver to pop any small plastic covers off.
remove any screws that are holding the panel or arm rests or anything else attached to the door (this is where the socket, allen or torx drivers may come in handy)
put all the small part in the plastic bag (use more than one to keep things straight, if you need to.)
starting at the bottom back corner start gently pulling the panel, you'll soon find spots where it's sticking, here you'll find plastic panel attachment pins. Using your panel removal tool, slide it under the panel and find the panel pins, slide the tool around the pins and pry them loose, You may find an extra screw you missed or a few panel pin toward the center, remove as before.
The panel should now be hanging by where it clips over the window edge (if working indoors, putting the window down ahead of time helps here) gentle lift and pull the panel up and off where it's hanging.
All that's left is disconnecting any wires, there will be clips molded into the sides to hold them in place, gently lift the clip and disconnect them.
Your panel should be loose.
Reverse to reinstall.

How to remove the front door of a 2000 toyota sienna

  1. Remove the phillips screw that holds the door handle trim piece (under the door handle)
  2. Remove the phillips screw at the upper front under the small round trim cap. Pry gently around all sides of the cap, prying a little more each time.
  3. Remove the arm rest by forcing it up with a screw driver. Start with the end towards the front of the car. Start prying at the front edge and next to the door panel. The arm rest has two clips (one at front edge and one about three inches back. Once the two clips are loose the arm rest flips towards you which unhooks the back two prongs.
  4. Pry off the control panel. This trim piece has a metal clip that you need to press from the front edge. There is a small indent to allow a small screwdriver. Don't use a screw driver! Use a thin putty knife, but a scredriver will work. There is a lip that the knife will catch on and release the trim. The back of the trim has a fixed clip, so unless you release the front clip it ain't gonna budge! Then unplug the attached wires.
  5. Now remove the 2 screws that appeared once the arm rest is off. I think that's all the screws. Pry the bottom of the panel away from the door starting at the bottom back corner (you will feel where there is resistance) and the plastic retaining clips will pop loose one after the other.
  6. Your panel should now be completely loose on both sides and the bottom, held on only by the top lip (that is supposed to lift off) and the door handle trim
  7. The door handle trim is a little tricky but once you know its not that hard. First of all its held it place by two clips. One is directory over the lock switch and one directly under it. Carefully pry underneath the trim in both of these location and twist the screwdriver to pop off the clips. There is still a hook clip nearer the front of the trim so to pull off the trim you have to kind of pop out the two clips while pulling towards the rear of the car since the hook clips slides out towards the rear.
  8. Once that is off its just a matter of lifting the whole panel up until it unhooks from the top of the door.

Diver side door will not open with door handle (outsidedoor )

There is a small clip that holds the outside door handle arm (inside the door) to the latching assembly, so the door panel has to be removed to reattach it. Sometimes the little clip is still attached to the handle arm, sometimes they are in the bottom of the door & sometimes you can't find them at all... Rick

Driver side power window stopped working

The door panel is held on by plastic clips and 5 screws. 3 screws are on the bottom and 1 in the pull cup and 1 in the inner door handle. Then grab one of the corners and give a small tug, when you get some of the clips to pop out then proceed around the whole panel. To replace the panel take the clips out of the door with a fork and slide them back into the panel and then line it up on the door and use your hand like a hammer and bang the panel back on. Hope this helps
