I dropped my remote to my car. Remote is not visabily broken, the batteries came out. Put them back in and not working. Now my car will start but only run for a few seconds, I replaced the batteries with new ones, but factory installed alarm/anti-theft system is not letting me drive my car. Please help. I need to get to work. Signed Desperate in VA
I think all you need to do is reset you ECM,Disconnect your car's battery by removing the positive and negative cables. Use a wrench to remove the cables if necessary. Press and hold your horn for 30 seconds to drain any remaining electricity from the capacitor. Wait 15 minutes and reconnect your battery. it wont hurt to try!

Try removing the alarm system relay, some car alarm has also a fuse on the alarm that you can remove.
Many car alarms unlock by inserting and turning car key while you connect the battery.

You need to disarm the alarm, the 2 problems are related, the start and stall is caused by the fuel pump interupt function of the factory alarm, you triggered it when you replaced the battery, The reset procedure is in the owners manual.

Setting in the car remote in hand turn the key on and off ( don't start the car ) three times within 5 seconds. Now press the door lock button until the doors lock and stop it should now work.
