SOURCE: hte wrench light is on

its due a service, dont let it go to long as you will be shortening the life of your engine, if you cant afford a full service, have the oil changed only, leaving oil in the engine cause the most damage to any car as it looses its ability to lubicate causing friction and damage. hope this helps ( rate me thanks )

I am looking for any 2004 Passat recall information, any help?

I found 3 recalls, NHTSA Campaign number 04V586000 Diesel Fuel System; NHTSA number07V063000 Brake Light Switch; #08V156000 Fuel System, Gasoline Delivery. There are also 33 Technical Service Bulletins. These can be found on the NHTSA website or at your VW dealership.

My 2006 VW jetta has a symbol of a wrench and it's meaning is not in the manual. What does the wrench symbol mean?

This means that your vehicle requires service. Something is wrong. You can take it to Autozone and they will put it on their diagnostic machine for free. And tell you what is wrong. Usually nothing major. Just needs to be checked out.
PLEASE RATE by checking one of the 4 thumbs ups!
Thanks! Have a GREAT DAY!!!

Reset service interval alarm on VW Passat-01?

This is a mileage interval light that trips every 3,000 to 5,000 miles that indicates an oil change is necessary. You do not need a special tool to change your oil, nor do you need to bring the car in to the dealer.
1. Sit in the driver's seat of the Passat and close all the doors.
2. Position the trip/odometer button to display the odometer mileage reading, then hold it down with the forefinger on your left hand.
3. Turn the ignition key to the "key-on/engine-off" position to turn on all the power options for the Passat without actually starting the engine. At this point, a service indicator light will display (in the form of a wrench).
4. Press the minute adjustment button on the clock (or turn the knob clockwise on European manufactured Passats) and release the trip/odometer button.
Good luck and thank you using Fixya

How do I reset the "service now' message on my 2008 Passat?

With the key sitting in the ignition but NOT on (not even accessories...the key is in in there but literally just about to fall out) push and hold the wrench button. Count 5 seconds, start the car while still pushing the wrench button and then push the min button on your clock. You must be holding the wrench button and the min button at the same time to reset the service message.
To test if you've reset properly, turn the car off and start it again. If you've reset properly the 'SERVICE NOW' will not appear and is automatically reset for 5k miles.
