95 Buick Century dash removal?

How do I take the dash out to install a new radio on my 95 buick century?

  • donovan_of_t Mar 04, 2009

I tried removing the trim around it but it's being overlapped by a covering underneath it. This is the part that I'm having trouble removing. I took out all of the screws but something is still catching and I thought that I'd check it out before trying to force it.

You should not have to remove the dash to install a new radio all you have to do is remove the trim around the radio and then take out the bolts that hold the radio in and remove the wires from the back and also if there is a Walmart or Radio Shack near you get an installation kit and you plug it from the plugs from your old radio and it is alot easier to wire it that way

1999 buick century odometer light does not work

this is a common problem and the dash cluster must be removed and sent out for repair, cost is about $175 to replace the LED (Light emitting diode) display that has burned out, this is a faxtory defect as far as this expert is concerned, it is not a fuse problem.

How do you remove the trim around the factory

Unfortunately it has been a few years since I've removed the dash in my sisters 95 century(same setup as yours)... but I came across something that should give you some decent pointers.

http://www.pdfee.com/autos-how-to/99-4544-installation-instructions

that is a link to a pdf, which, on Page 3 gives a basic text description of what you need to remove in order to get the dash trim off and gain access to the radio. If that link does not work, here's the link the page from which you can download the above mentioned file also...

How do o remove the radio from my 2002 buick century?

There is a single screw located inside the glove box (on the left side) that needs to be removed. Then just carefully pull out the plastic dash as it is only secured by pushpins. Then remove the 2 screws holding the radio, and unplug the antenna and wiring harness, and it's out.
