2007 Corolla---Check engine light

I was driving my 2007 corolla and the check engine light came on and my car will not go over 30 mph now. Any Ideals?

    I have the same problem and a scan tool reports a P607 control module preformance error

    power cuts out after running a few minutes but all lights are still on. I lose power steering, rpms, and the car doesn't move. the check engine and battery light come on after the power cuts out.

Don't know where you are located but assume you have an advanced auto or autzone near by if you drive the car there you can use there scan tool for free and retrieve the code from the check engine light and pinpoint your problem. could be alot of problems but that will tell you exactly what thye issue is.

Not sure what is causing it, but it sounds like you're running on 3 cyllinders. Check plugs, wires, timing . timing belt may have jumped, bad injector, low fuel pressure.

hi,
when the check engine light comes on, your car goes into a mode where instead of everything being normal, things are forced, to try and compensate for something else being wrong. It most likely does need a new timing belt, and a complete tuneup INCLUDING plugs and wires. we have a 1984 toyota corolla and it purrs like ground rice, I suggest the tuneup to continue proper rice production.
