You PCM has spot a problem in the engine control system.you have bad sensor or EVAP leak or cylinder misfire.any auto parts store will code scan vechicle see what cause check engine light to flash on.they will code scan vechicle free go by auto zone.

the wires may have come out of the back of your cluster thats what the unit is called with all the gauges.if your speedometer stopped working but everything else is working this is normal for a cavalier just built crappy and you will have to go to chevrolet parts department and get a new cluster about just under 300 i think if you give them your old one up front or you will have to pay alot more till you can give them your broken one.because they will repair it and it will be sold again. if you want a new one not reconditioned its about 2000 dollars

go to autoparts store and use their scanner to scan the computer and get the code. you may have to wait until you can catch it back on again. You can try resetting the computer by disconnecting battery for 30 minutes and see if that works first

Find where the throttle cable goes the the throttle body. Now on the opposite side of the throttle body is the TPS 3 wires/plug.
