How to replace sideview mirror motor on95 Riviera

You don't replace the motor. Replace the entire mirror. If you want to replace just the motor, you have to remove the mirror first and they break. Either the mirror will break or the tabs that hold the mirror to the motor.

How do I remove the mirror on the driver's side of the car and replace it with a new mirror?

p, li { white-space: pre-wrap; }

Steps to follow

1.Buy the replacement mirror, making sure that it is an exact match to your vehicle's make, model and year. You can order it through your dealership. If you'd like to save more money, you can order a mirror online or buy one from a junkyard or a salvage yard that sells auto parts.

2.Roll down your window and shut your vehicle off.

3.Disconnect the battery's negative cable. This is important, because there is a risk of electrocution if you do not perform this step.

4.Take off the interior door panel by using your pry tool to remove the trim pieces. Then use the screwdriver to remove the screws holding the panel in place. You may have to remove a corner trim piece before the door panel lifts off.

5.Unplug the wiring harness if you have power-controlled mirrors. If you have manual roll-down windows, skip this step.

6.Take out the mirror bolts with either a socket wrench or a nut driver, so that you can remove the entire mirror assembly from the car.

7.Separate the actual mirror from the mirror assembly. Use a torx driver to extract the screws, and then pry the plastic tabs on the backing until the two pieces separate.

8.Attach the new mirror to the assembly by snapping it onto the backing with the tabs.

9.Put the new mirror, attached to the backing, into the mirror assembly.

10.Reverse the steps to reinstall the entire mirror assembly back onto the vehicle.

How do I replace the pass. side sideview mirror ***'y. (non power)? 2004 Grand-am 4 door

I just replaced a passenger side unpowered mirror on my 2001 S-10 pickup. It might be the same for your Grand Am. There are two screws that attach the mirror to the mirror base. Remove these two screws and the mirror can be removed from the base. I did all the work from the outside. The screws are "star" head screws on my S-10, so you will need the correct tool. The other problem is that I had to buy a complete mirror assembly because they don't sell just the mirror portion.
I went to a junkyard, they did not have a used mirror but had a new one at a much lower cost than a dealer's cost.

Sideview mirror has broke from the base

Side view mirrors are relatively simple to replace. Sometimes it requires the removal of the complete door trim to gain access to the mounting nuts and any wiring it may have. Other times there is a triangle piece in the corner of the door window opening that can be removed by itself and allows access to the hardware and wiring connectors. Check local junkyards for a used mirror, you may even find one in the right color. Good luck.

Sideview mirrors dont move certain ways.

I researched the maintenance manual. The fuse you need to replace is fuse 20 in the under dash fuse box. It controls side windows, washer motor, rear view dim function, and possible seat memory. There are a couple that link to the mirrors, but this is the one for this problem.
