Check for loose vaccum hoses. If everything looks in place, I would suggest you collect as much information as possible: Engine light on? what is the troublecode?

SOURCE: 98 cadillac deville battery wont hold a charge

sounds like a 12V drain on the system, like a trunk or glove box light that won't shut off.> Could be many. many other reasons why. The way I would find the draining circuit would be to remove the neg cable of the battery. I then would connect a 12V test light between the neg battery TERMINAL and the neg battery CABLE. With a 12V drain the light will shine. I would install into the light a 9V battery powered recepticle to hold computer and radio station memory. Then I remove fuses 1 at a time, then reinstall, at the same time looking for the 12V light to go out. Hope this helps.

SOURCE: 1998 cadillac deville fans not coming on starts

If your fans are not coming on then your engine is not receiving the signal that it is overheating. This can be caused by bad fans (unlikely they are both out) a bad relay, or coolant temperature sensor. I would start by checking or replacing the temperature sensor as it can become corroded which is what the PCM uses to turn the fans on. Many vehicles use two sensors, one for the gauge and the other for the ECU, make sure you check/replace the right one. It should be a cheaper part and if you are unsure then match the new one with its location; it should be on the intake manifold or near it, generally with one or two wires. I think you will find your problem as they are common failed parts.

Good luck!

SOURCE: 2004 deville passenger front and rear power windows

hello there:
you may have to disassemble the door panel and check to see if the cable going to the actuator has come off if the cable is there and mounting looks OK you may need to replace the actuator its a simple procedure to do and it's just as expensive to replace the motor and actuator together at the same time the reason for this is to resolve future problems.... hope this helps thanks

SOURCE: 1996 Cadillac Sedan Deville that overheats only when idling

The most common overheating problem with the Northstar engine is a blocked purge line(small hose). The purge line is designed to purge air out of the cooling system.
There is a small diameter hose coming from near the top of the coolant tank (not the cap) ,this is the purge line.
With the engine idling, pull the purge line from the tank,if there is no coolant flow from this small hose,it is blocked and this will cause overheating.
If the hose is clear, check for blockage at the nipple on the tank.Or trace the hose back until you find the blockage.
The hose goes in to the engine to a crossover and comes out the other side close to the thermostat housing, the blockage may be there.

Is your check engine light on while your driving? If it is get a hold of a scran tool to find out what codes are showing.Or most auto parts supply stores have one end will check it for codes, Most of them don,t charge to check it out for you.

2004 cadillac deville engine misfiring

If the check engine light is not on, I would look at the fuel pressure and vac leaks. Mechanical problems can occur without triggering the check engine light.

1992 Cadillac Deville ideals really slow and miss's when I step on the throttle

Do this frist and then if the miss is still there have the spark plugs and plug wires replaced.

This problem is commonly caused by a dirty automatic idle speed control valve and throttle valve. Buy a can of throttle valve cleaner (do not use carburetor spray cleaner!) from NAPA or Carquest (made by CRC chemicals) and spray it into the air intake while the engine is running, use up about 1/2 the can, engine will try to stall hold the speed up, shut it down and let it soak for 30 minutes, restart and blow out the remaining fluid, shut it down and disconnect the negative battery cable for 5 Min's to reset the base idle control

Will my 2004 cadillac deville start with 11.5 volts

Just not quite enough voltage there. You need to charge it up.
If the car was at normal operating temperature, that might just be enough to start it-but it's iffy.
Good luck. Thanks for using FixYa.

My 2004 deville shifts a little rough at different speeds. It seems to do it when the car is warm to hot.It does not leak.Would a transmission flush help the problem? It has 76000 miles.we bought it with...

You Change Trans & Power Steering Fluids every
30,000 miles on ALL Vehicles

I don't suggest flushing,some people do

If you want to chance having problems get
it flushed

You remove all the fluid it may just start to slip

You have to understand that fluid changes DO NOT FIX
A THING

The fluid removes heat & breaks down
That is why it is changed

I would assume you don't flush brake fluid every 2 years
Trans & Steering every 3 years,not over 30,000 miles
Spark Plugs at 60,000 miles

When you buy a used vehicle you lay it up for two weeks
& work on it,never drive it
All Preventative maintenance gets done,regardless
of what you were told about the vehicle

Cadillac 2004 deville starts slow and when it does start smells like fuel also after traveling several miles will keep accelerating without stepping on the gas pedal

the idle control valve is probably very gummed up and needs to be removed and cleaned, possibly replaced-if this continues, it will probably throw a code 9check engine light will come on) and you will end up having the IAC valve cleaned or replaced.
