I have a honda vtec engine' my problem is evrytme i used my car in the morning, the engine will start nice, after i reused it again and start the engine, it wont start anymore, i did replace the spark plug and ignition coil, but the problem still ther. its hard starting after i used the car again, specially when the engine is hot already.whats seems to be the problem?

Why did you change all of those things if you were told it was the VTEC solenoid? Why not try that first? Read online to see if there is a method to clean the solenoid without replacing it. I'm not sure that the VTEC solenoid would cause such problems, but I suppose it's possible. The VTEC system uses oil pressure to change the follower on the cam lobes. It changes between profiles. So at higher RPM, it switches to a different cam profile that is more efficient at higher RPMs. Like having 2 cams in 1.

it's my understanding that it does not have a vtec engine normally they don't. unless maybe depending on when exactly the build date was it might could have one, not real sure on that though. i still would think that it don't have one.

Any code starting with "p" refers to powertrain ie gearbox/final drive and the 1529 code refers to a signal error from a SCAIR solenoid in the Vtec series engines.

How to get fuel out of your VTEC? Sorry, I'm not sure what you are talking about. VTEC is an engine. Are you wanting to drain the fuel tank? Or relieve fuel pressure from the rails on the engine?

if you ran water through the engine its mostly likely game over, cold water hitting your hot pistons and valves... your looking at fried rings, cracked valves possably a cracked block.... you may have gotten lucky but i have my doubts...

The 96-98 Civic EX came with an OBD2A D16Y8 engine. That is the only engine that will go in as a direct replacement with your current engine ECU. It's an SOHC VTEC engine that has two extra connections not found on the other 96-98 Civic engines - a VTEC solenoid and a special oil sensor used to determine if VTEC engagement is possible. If you swap in an older Civic engine (92-95 generation) you'll have to convert the car to OBD1 (requires a special adapter hardness) and run the ECU that goes with whatever engine you use. This will break functionality of your OBD2 diagnostics port, and depending on which state you live in will cause you to fail emissions checks. If you install a D16Y8 engine from a 99-00 Civic EX, you will have to swap the intake and exhaust manifolds from your old engine to the new engine, and you will be able to continue to run your existing OBD2A wiring and ECU. The 99-00 Civic EX engines have additional sensors, since those engines are OBD2B. The easiest fix would be to find a SOHC VTEC D16Y8 from a 96-98 Civic EX, as it would be a direct plug and play replacement.
