Headlights won't work

I have a 1999 Buick Regal. When my wife turns the brights on, all the headlights go out. Whenever she has the headlights on there is a burning electrical smell in the interior. If my wife does not touch the brights, there is no problem except for the smell. Last night on her way home from work, all headlights stopped working.

Relay was stuck.  Now you replace the relay and a few burnt fuses and the burnt wiring.  You should have fixed this at the first warning sign of a problem...sadly, now you pay the price for not doing so.

My headlights wont come on. i checked fuses, bulbs and all is good. what might be the problem

Not an expert on autos but I did own a Buick Regal of that era. I had problems with mine also. They finally found that the wires to my headlight were crossed ad bare with the wires to my horn. Every time I turned on my light the horn kept blasting. Check for stripped wires near your headlights or have someone check them with a voltage meter to see if there is even power getting to the headlamps. Good luck.

Automatic headlights don't work all the time on 1999 Buick Regal GS with 144,000 miles. Intermittent problem. Sometimes they work and sometimes they don't. I always keep headlight switch on middle...

hi,
you had specified as, the headlights are not working properly & making a buzz sound. The problem is the circuit has a loose connectivity either at the switch or near the bulb. while you are able to hear the buzzing sound check the position of the wires near the source of sound. You will be able to find where the connectivity should be tightened exactly.please do this as early as possible since the loose connection can damage the circuit and the switches due to high temperature.
thanks, have a nice day.
