I have a 2001 crysler town and country and my father and i were changing the oil a few days ago and the key was not in the ignition and the coolant fans started running and would not turn off. we tried starting the van and they still would not shut off. so we took a fuse out and that seemed to have stopped the fans. when we took the fuse out the check engine light came on? we let it sit for a few days and now it wont do it. we put the fuse back in and the check engine light will not go off? what does this mean? What can i do? please help!!!!!!!!!!!! asap!!!!
The lite came on because the computer saw that there was no power to the cooling fan curcuit. That is monitored by the computer. But to be sure you should have someone read the code for you. Or you can disconnect the battery and it will clear the code. If the lite comes back on the computer is still seeing a problem and you should have it check.

I just went out to my van this morning the battery was completly dead. So I put my starter on it when the battery charged up I turned the ignition on and the radiator fans came on. This made me wonder wheter or not they shutoff last night when I parked it. Sure enough I drove the van for awhile parked it and the fans never shutoff. I let it sit for 3 hours and as soon as I put the fuse back in the fans come back on. What in the world is causing this to happen.
