I would read trouble codes with a scanner. Its free at any auto part retailer. Sounds to me like a bad cam sensor.
I hope this helps!

SOURCE: 2006 Ford Five Hundred traction control light on all the time.

The traction light came on in my Ford 500 SEL along with the ABS light. If this happened, the problem was low battery power and a bad alternator. A fully charged battery fixed it for me after driving a couple of miles.

SOURCE: = 07 ford five hundred ac problems

First off,is the ac compressor turning? If so are the large line, near where you put freon in,cold? If the low side lines(large lines)are cold and sweating, and the evaporator box is dripping water on the ground, then the ac is most likely fine. There is a temp door in the ac blower box, that moves for hot,or cold when you select these comfort levels. This door is most likely controlled by a actuator motor. This motor is most likely bad.If it is control by vacuum, look for a broken vacuum hose,or one that has come loose under hood.

Ford Five Hundred head lights and dash lights are flashing.

I would check battery voltage with a meter when the lights are flashing to check alternator output. Might be a ground problem.

I have a 2006 ford five hundred; The "wrench" symbol illuminated on dash, car tried to accelerate then shut off. What could be the problem?

the 'wrench' symbol is a service light or possibly an engine managment symbol. if the car 'kinda' drive of a fashion then its computer has dropped onto 'limp home' mode and ur car needs to be put onto a diagnostic fault finder at a garage.

Ford five hundred has flashing light on dash for engine lock out. key will not turn over to start engine. book says to see dealership

sounds like chip key is not communicating with host computer. Part of anti-theft. probably a good idea to see dealer.
