The check engine light is an early warning system to protect your engine from malfunction. There are several sensors within your engine that trigger this light. If you have your owners manual there will be a section in it that tell you what to check. The basics are ;
engine oil level
coolant level
blocked air filter
but the list can go on so look at the manual.

I have a 2004 Jeep Liberty Renegade 3.7 with an Automatic Transmission throwing code P0704.

Question edited for clarity. The code is 'Capital P - Zero', not 'small p- letter oh'.

it sounds like you have an overheating situation

Or the system is being pressurized from somewhere.

While on the interstate, pulling my small cargo trailer, my 1998 5.7 Silverado, starts shaking, engine light flashing, I stop and read the codes, and get, P0309, P0704, P186, what does these mean?

You have miss read or typed 2 of the codes P0309 = PO309 = Cylinder 9 Misfire Detected, P186 = nothing, P1860 = TCC PWM Solenoid Circuit Electrical, PO186 = Fuel Temp Sensor ''B''. The one you may have got right P0704 = PO704 = Clutch Pedal Position Switch Circuit.

I have code P0704 transmission how can i diagnos and repair problem?

Well code 704 is usually found on vehicles with a manual trans. The code means the computer is not getting a signal from the clutch switch.
You may need to check a Caravan shop manual to find out if that code exists on automatic trans models.

What are Fault codes P0441 + P0704 On my 05 Plate Octavia VRS?

Code P0441 seems to relate to the EVAP Emission Control System. Either there is a blockage or a leak in one of the valves (N80 or N115) or the pipes between throttle body and tank breather are broken.
Code P0704 seems to be a faulty clutch pedal position switch

Here's more info about code P0441 at ross-tech:

P0701 and p0704

Unfortunately the 0700 series of numbers relate to the transmission. Code ( P0701) is pushed by 1- Open or short transmission control system circuit. 2 - Poor transmission control system electrical connection. 3 - Check powers and grounds to Transmission Control Module (TCM). Code P0704 is pushed by 1- Faulty Clutch Switch.
2 - Misadjusted Clutch Switch. 3 - Clutch Switch harness is open or shorted. 3 - Clutch Switch circuit poor electrical connection. 4 - Faulty Engine Control Module (ECM). But I'm guessing you have an automatic trans. right. If so I would look at the (DTR) digital transmission range sensor.

What is code p0704 means on my Chevy 2001

Clutch Pedal Position Switch is not working properly. What it does it sends signal to your engine at different pedal angles so the engine calculates values to be assigned to different systems.

I have a 1997 Honda Accord SE 4 Cylinder with a check engine light on. I had a mechanic run a diagnostic and it came back with code p0740, torque converter clutch circuit malfunction. What does this mean?

The torque converter is a key functional part of the automatic transmission. The car computer detected a malfunction and set the P0704 code. Most likely you have over 100k miles already so it could be problems with the transmission. Most mechanics will reset the light and code if you are not having any transmission problems. It the problem comes back you will need to service or replace the transmission. Best thing to do is to take the car to a mechanic you trust and find the best and cheapest way to address the malfunction.

2002 escape check engine light came on and Auto Zone said I had a large fuel emissions leak. What does this mean and would this cause the escape to not want to start in the mornings without pressing on the...

The most common fault that Escape has with emission control is the EGR pressure sensor failing. The code for this is p0704 (from memory) and if this the the code you have then i recommend replacing that part first. This would not effect the cold start performance however, I would suggest that this is a separate issue. Recommend having the throttle body cleaned and the idle reset to help cold start issue.
Hope this helps, Mark.
