Do you leave an oil patch when you park? if not then you wil notice when you put your foot down that a noticable cloud of smoke is expelled from the exhaust. this indicates that one or more of your oil seals is going/gone. the more you drive it the worse it gets im afraid. best test is to listen to the engine whilst running it and see if there are any tapping noises or knocking noises as this is a newish car and shouldnt have many probs?

White smoke petrol 1.4 renault clio.not stem

White smoke: White smoke is caused by water and or antifreeze entering the cylinder, and the engine trying to burn it with the fuel. If white smoke is present, check to see if the proper amount of antifreeze is inside the radiator and the overflow bottle. Also check to see if antifreeze has contaminated the engine oil. You can look at the engine oil dipstick, or look at the under side of the engine oil filler cap. If the oil is contaminated with antifreeze, it will have the appearance of a chocolate milkshake. Do not start the engine if the oil is contaminated with antifreeze, as serious internal engine damage can result.

It is also possible to be a engine problem you should immediate visit a car service.

My Renault Clio 1.6 16v 2000 has started making a tapping noise from I think the top of the engine. Oil is topped up and no decrease in performance. Just tapping away! Any idea's and would it be an...

hi, just because you topped it up will oil it do'snt mean the oil good. the oil could be 4 years old and full of sludge the oil pipe filter filler can be partially blocked ( in the sump), the oil releif vale can stick open and pass oil back to the sump. the oil filter (changable external) can be partially block. to test oil is free to circulate START ENGINE TICKING OVER and TAKE THE OIL FILLER CAP OFF to see if oil comes out of the ROKER COVER. if not then the above applies

Renault clio clutch adjust

If the problem is just a clutch cable (clio 55 plate should be cable, not hidraulic), you can adjust or replace the clutch cable quit easily.

If the problem concerns instead the clutch disk, then you will need to put a car up on a bridge, empty the oil and fluid, and remove the clutch that is attached on the engine, on the right lower side.
This is usually not a job for home repair.
