You have 3 choices.
1) Bad battery
2)Starter motor solenoid is inoperative or starter motor itself is inoperative
3) your engine is locked up
How old is your battery and are the connections to the starter motor good?
Do you hear a clicking noise when you try to start the engine?
Do you have a clunk noise when you try to start it?

If dirty connections then clean the terminals andtry to start engine.
Clicking noise means starter solenoid is picking up but starter motor is disunctional and needs replacement.
If the noise is a clunk then your engine is locked up for whatever reason.
Last but not least if you hear the starter motor runningand a metalic grinding then the star is bad on the starter motor which means replacement of same.

SOURCE: crank position sensor location

you will need to remove the starter to gain acess to the ckp sensor. once you remove the starter look on the engine block and you will see the sensor. The only problem with doing this repair yourself is that you will not be able to preform the crankshaft position variation learn procedure with out a factory scan tool. The vehicle may crank an run, but the timing advance curves will be wrong so the vehicle will probably cut off every time you remove your foot from the gas pedal. Hope this info helps!

SOURCE: long crank time for 2000 olds intrigue 3.5

I've seen a lot of problems like this that is caused by the crankshaft posistion sensor which is located behind the starter. I would check that.

SOURCE: is it a timing belt on olds intrigue 2000, 3,5L?

Of course, if your timing gears or chain fail, the engine will suffer significant damage, with valves hitting pistons and bending. Broken rocker arms and even lifters jammed into the head can be a very expensive repair.

Timing chains on these engines probably should be replaced around the 200K miles mark - when a mechanic replaces the valve cover gaskets he should take a light and inspect the chain guides. If they have significant wear they should be replaced.

Excessive chain noise and plastic bits in the engine oil are also signs of an impending chain failure, but you won't have much warning.

I have a 2000 olds intrigue i just got in my car and every time i crank it loses power then the dials go crazy and for a minute or two then the power comes back on.

usually dials going crazy indicates low battery and/or failing alternator. Make sure they are 100 working before making a lot of other fixes.

2000 olds intrigue not getting fuel pump good no power to pump

How did you verify the pump is good? Did you use a battery to jumper pump wire at the tank?
Use a testlight or voltmeter and check for voltage at pump wire at the tank connector when someone is cranking the car. When cranking the pump should be working, so the power wire to pump on the car side of connector should have 12 volts. If no power, it might be a bad relay. If not the relay, you need a tech or someone familiar with your car to diagnose further. The engine computer signal turns the relay on to power pump. Good luck.

Starter wont crank on a 2000 oldsmobile intrigue

Check your manual if you have it. I believe you need to have the key in the ignition in the ON position for about 10 minutes to reset the security system.

NTERMITTENT STALLING AND STARTING.

A very common for these problems is a leaking fuel pressure regulator. This leaks gas and causes extended crank times, stalling, and check engine light.

Long crank time for 2000 olds intrigue 3.5

first thing i would do is replace your fuel filter.
with a fuel filter restriction it take longer to provide enough fuel pressure to fire.
that would be the most common but there are also may other things that could have happened but would need more information to do a process of elimination
good luck
