1997 dodge intrepid is stuttering in reverse

1997 Dodge Intrepid was slipping into neutral when taking off when it was cold. I checked the fluid and it was low so added some more and it fixed the issue. The fluid did not smell abnormal but wasn't it's usual bright red. That was about two months ago. It is now having issues with stuttering in reverse whether it is hot or cold. Is this just a case of needing new fluid, replace the filter, and clean the pan? I do not know when the last time this was done.

That fluid and filter is due to be changed. The stuttering is evidence off low charge pump pressure at the reverse clutch pack . Filter service should be done every 80,000 miles.

1997 Dodge Neon automatic, shifts rough (jerks or revs like it is in neutral). It also doesn't always go in reverse when cold. Help!

Check the fluid level, add some transmission aditive. this should take care of the reverse problem. Check the engine and transmission mounts for the jerking. Let me know.

P0700 p0733 p0734 1997 chrysler intrepid

P0700 codes are Transmission DTC's (Diagnostic Trouble Codes)...

The specific codes are Incorrect Gear Ratio codes. This problem could be caused by low transmission fluid, deteriorated transmission fluid, a shift solenoid malfunction, the transmissions line pressure, quite a few electrical problems, etc. First step would be to check the fluid level the correct way. The vehicle must be up to operating temperature, and the shifter must be in the Neutral position. Also look at the color of the fluid. If the fluid is no longer the right condition, (most of the time it is bright red) it will be brown, or darker looking. Also smell the fluid, it may smell burnt. If this is the case, the clutch may also be slipping. In conclusion, if the fluid is NOT the problem, you may need to have the transmission tested by a certified technician. Hope this helps you.

2000 Dodge Intrepid Transmission slow to engage

Only check the level when it has been driven and warm. And while it is still running. Now, for the slow engagement, It may be draining fluid back into the pan, from the torque converter. Let it idle a little while before trying to drive it. That will fill the torque converter back up, and will drive right away. Takes about 2 minutes of idle time to fill the torque converter. Now, drive it and then, while it is still running, in park, check the fluid level in the transmission. It very likely could be low and could also be the slow engagement cause.

those trany are none for problems. first is to check your fluid level if its good then to the trany shop it goes, you can try having the trany fluid flush if it hasnt been done every 30,000 miles.if not then you may need a rebuild.

1997 dodge intrepid running hot!

check first if you are loosing water or cooling fluids on your radiator. There may be a leak or the radiator cap may no longer prevent the steam from escaping. check the radiator fans if they are turning. You can check the fan if it is working by removing the temp sensor at the lower radiator hose. The fan should turn on by then.
