Try adjusting the latch mechanism.

SOURCE: I can't lock the rear hatch door on my yukon

The lock is stuck in the "locked" position.
When you close the hatch, it is jamming the latch hook into the wrong area.

Manually open the hatch. Unlock the hatch (even tho the hatch is already open). there are two bolts holding the metal "loop", the loop has moved. Adjust the metal loop and close the hatch / lock it, etc.

SOURCE: rear hatch will not unlock on my 05 Denali

Check the unlock mechanism for the hatch. These are controlled by an electrical motor pulling a cable. If the cable came loose you might or might not hear the click click that it makes. I would also check the fuses and relays related to the system. Usually if you can get the interior panel off all the innards are exposed. I would suggest pulling that panel off, then triggering the keyless remote and see if anything moves, that might pinpoint where it has gone bad.

SOURCE: The door lock/unlock on my

you need to check the battery in the key fob remote . If the battery are good . the remote will need to be tested to make sure it is capable of transmitting (only place i know that can test them is the dealer ship but you could call your local parts store to see if they can test). If the the remote test good then it will have to be reprogramed or relearn to the truck .I belive if it needs to be relearned or programed you will need to have that done at a shop with a proper scan tool .

My daughter's 2009 Acadia - the back hatch will not open. We've tried using the key remote to unlock it, using the door switch to unlock - all to no avail. Suggestions?

I have similar issue with Smart Forfour. Its the electrics - there is a faulty connection between lock and brain. We removed the interior panels and applied a voltage independently to release the lock.
Replacing the mechanism did not solve the issue, as its a wiring harness problem. Now have a "string" attached to the lock mechanism which we use to open the hatch from inside.

The power lock has gone out on my vans back hatch, can't even get the key to unlock the door. How do I get the door unlocked?

You can't pop out the lock cylinder. Not from the outside. You have to get back there and remove the hatch panel. The top just pops off. A couple off screws on the top of the bottom panel the start popping it loose. There are screws on the bottom so you can't get it out. You have to reach down and release the latch to open the hatch. After it is open then remove the bottom screw and pop off the rest of the panel. Then you can fix what you need to. Include a new cylinder.

Why will rear hatch not unlock?

I assume you are using a keyless entry, in which case - you need to replace the sensor for the rear hatch

Why wont the rear door open on my 2009 gmc acadia

from inside or outside ? if won't open from inside your child safety lock is probably tripped. if won't open from outside you probably have a lock rod that popped off inside the door, in which I would have the dealer fix it, it involves taking door pad off and when you can't open door to take pad off ,most of the time it damages it.

My rear hatch will not open on my 2005 saturn vue. There is no key lock on the outside in my model. Any idea how to fix it?

Sorry, I don't have the data now..... but. Some hatches have a manual release on the inside. There might be a small plate near the door center that you can remove and open the hatch with a screwdriver.

but...I'm not sure tho about your car.
