1990 Buick Century 3.3 L V-6. Starts fine and runs good while i'm parked .

It runs fine as its warming up then after 10 minutes or so starts starving out and dies within 30 seconds or so .. Fires again when cranked over but wont start and run. Changed fuel filter. Checked fuel pressure...its good Let it cool down and it will start up again and proceed to do the same thing. Checked injectors all around 12 ohms with one at 10 Guessing something warms up and sends ecm a signal that somethings wrong an it shuts things down. Just dont know what . It's and old car. Don't want to replace all the electrical and fuel components looking for the answer. Is there a temperature sensor that sends a signal to the ECM? Thanks in advance for any help richard

not sure, when it dies pull a wire off and hold close and crank to see if an arc jumps from pin to wire. no arc = bad coil pack and modual

you should also test fuel pressure when it wont start because the pump may not be working when it heats up

My 90 buick did the same thing, I had to replace the electronic spark control and that solved my problem.

since you replaced fuel pump and fuel filter, then I would lean towards: distributor, sensor, ignition module. Hope this helps Tim

SOURCE: intermitant stalling hard starting replaced ecm,

Hi, first thing, is your check engine light on? if it is, you can check the codes yourself, get a paper clip unfold it so you got 2 straight ends, find your dianostics port where you plug in the scanner, take the paper clip and stick one end into the one on the far right and the other to the one next to it and turn ignition key to on position, check engine should start blinking if not move the last end of paper clip you plug into the next one in port until it does( turning key off each time before you move paper clip end) do this procedure until the light starts to blink. When it blinks count the blinks, for example it will blink one time than a pause than blink twice quick which means 12 and so on. It will start out with a 12 which means the computer is ready to give stored codes. Just write down the codes and either take them to napa, or auto zone, or to a shop you know, and they can tell you what they mean. On a car that old it could be almost anything, parts wear out, but right now what stands out to me by your description i would check the cadalitic converter it might be plugged. Take some advise get someone that knows something about cars or at least works on them on a regulator bases. That way your not playing a gessing game.

1998 Buick century hard to start when warm

Although this is almost impossible to diagnose without access to the vehicle, it is quite common for the Mass Airflow Sensor to get dirty and cause this kind of issue. I would remove it and clean it. Cleaners are available at almost any automotive parts retailers.

When my buick century 1995 is cold it will start but won't rev up. once it is hot it runs okay

Number of possibilities. See if you have any diagnostic codes stored. Could be throttle position sensor, coolant temp. sensor, hard to say. I would start with the codes. Does it start easy when warmed up, and run good? Boy, I just don't know.

1990 Buick Century 3.3L Check Engine Light comes on, stalls.

Need to check for fault codes. Possibly a faulty sensor causing the fuel system to run rich or lean.

Starts fine, Idles fine, Drives Fine for a while

you might want to chk. the crank sensor and or cam sensor. sounds more to me that it could be fuel problem. chk. fuel pressure. pump could be on its way out. don't be fooled by hearing the pump running as they sound like they are pumping but there not, at least not enought pressure to keep it running. pressure should be around 50 p.s.i.
