I have a 1995 Lexus -sc-model-my question is this-there is a place for a key under dash -what for?

The hood is cable operated. Pull the hood release lever under the dash area.

check your fuses fist and always when electrical things stop working ,there should be a fuse location finder in your owners manual,and under the hood you should also have a power distribution box and then one inside on the left side by the drivers left leg or lower dash panel

What is actually happening.....for instance, do you hear clicking whilst you turn the key ????.....if you put the headlights on whilst you crank, do they go dim/go out completely.......???......do the reds on the dash dim, or are they off......more info required to be able to assist you.........thanks

if all fuses good under hood and inside they have big problems with the ignition switch,,,,the electrical part

First have battery checked at a Interstate battery place or equivelant. All issues point to low voltage. A shorted battery will cause the alternator not to work.

you can get to part of it from trunk and the rest of it threw the rear seat.

that should do it.

the fuse is 20Amp. and the fuse box is located under dash next to the hood pull in the driver side.

If it's the same as the 1995 lexus, you go through the trunk.

Unscrew the bolts that are holding the brake lights in place through the holes in the apolstry in the trunk. The light should come loose and from there find which wire goes to the bulb that's out. Unscrew the piece, pull the bulb out, and replace.
