Timming belt ?
Maybe i don't know it was running fine all day seems like a censor to me
can you take a video of the car while you turn it over trying to start it? that would allow us to hear the speed of the starter etc. and better determin a cause / sollution.
Well the starter turns over but makes a zinging sound as like if somethings not turning the motor i believe it is a timming belt . Do you know if thats a belt or chain?
belt
have someone crank it over while you have the hood open and you watch the engine turn over... if the pullys and all are turning... but it sounds like the starter has not enguaged fully.... (spinning free) then your timing belt is the issue.
143,000 miles you think thats what it is eith the zinging sound
Did that all pullys turning but not engageing to turn pistons and rods to actually start rhe car
so , the timming belt... theres a chance the valves didn't punch holes in the pistons then.. I would pull the heads and inspect the damage before junking the car over a timming belt issue if it broke while attempting to start it..$600 , VS. buying a new car....

Maybe the battery
SOURCE: engine overheated, now car won't start without giving it gas
Some cars cut off as a fail safe to overheating especially on newer cars. The computer controls the fans and if they are not working the computer is probably telling the car to shut off. Have you replaced the motors already, if not, this is what's happening. Once you replace the motors it should run fine. I wouldn't suggest driving it too much with this problem as it may affect the computer by giving it false info.

I have a 2004 that had the same problem. It sounds like the engine might be flooded. The best thing to do is to remove the fuse to the fuel pump. It will be listed under the fuse cover under the hood. Mine was a 20 amp but check to be sure. With the fuse removed, crank the engine for a minute to remove any fuel flooding the engine. Replace the fuse and crank the engine in 10 second intervals without touching the gas or you will reflood the engine. This process can sometimes take awhile and will drain your battery, so have it connected to an additional power source ( i.e. another car battery or jump box). When the car finally cranks over there will be a huge cloud of smoke so don't be alarmed when it happens. Lastly some words to the wise. This process CAN ruin your starter, but is essentially the same process that the dealership will you except that they will remove the spark plugs to drain the fuel and then charge you for new ones. If this process doesn't work then you probably need new spark plugs which is going to cost quite a bit. I was quoted upwards of $525 to fix this problem until I talked to a Mazda mechanic and found out how to do this myself. Just make sure that the engine is up to running temperature before turning the car off and you shouldn't encounter this problem again. I hope this helps you, and remember that if all else fails the dealer can fix it. It won't be cheap, but they will get it done.
I almost forgot, you HAVE to get the oil changed as soon as possible because there is probably gas in the oil now.
SOURCE: my 2005 mazda mpv's fan
I have a 2003 MPV with the same problem. There was a recall in 2004 to replace the fan controller module, which apparently would fail regularly. I had mine replaced under the recall although there were no symptoms at the time. Now it appear that the replacement has failed, but I've already used the recall and you can only do it once. Even though your warranty is up the recall still applies if your car is of the model that qualifies. Call your dealer, and he can tell you if you are eligible. It is almost certainly the problem. I don't care how you drive or what the temperature is, your fan shouldn't run immediately after starting or run for more than a couple of minutes after you shut it off.
SOURCE: First: alarm went off on its own.(mazda 6 2003).
there is often a small back up battery in the immobiliser unit itself, if you can locate this unit and replace the battery with the ignition on / engine running, then it should not need recoding and work fine after that. The other thing that could be wrong is the key battery (if the fob has one) or the transponder chip in the key head. If the key signal is low the immobiliser lamp will light during driving, but this does not explain the alarm going off. That is more likely either a poor vehicle battery, alarm / immobiliser back up battery, or another electrical fault such as water leakage into a tail-light or even the alarm unit itself when it rains. A lot of alarms are voltage sensing and when the vehicle is parked they will alarm if the battery voltage changes for any reason, though not during driving so the battery in the immob is my first choice to look at.

No its not a fuel filter problem,Your car would not rev if it was not getting fuel. Its your idle controll valve.Remove the air intake pipe and spray with carb cleaner and see if that does the trick first Could be just a dirty throtle housing.Good luck.
