You need to disconnect the sounder. they usually go like this when the internal battery is going, it triggers the alarm to go, so remove it and take it away. ie remove it completely away from the vehicle. and put some were where will not do any harm as the battery can become unstable. its a sealed unit, so you will need to replace it, but in there with the unit you should find another plug, this is for a horn type fitting. use an old horn and that will go off when the alarm goes of but you will not have any beeping or chirping from the horn.

SOURCE: Hyundai Sonata 2006 - Check Engine light came on.

"Fuel system too lean at idle". It's an air/fuel ratio that is not correct, possibly a vacuum leak somewhere. Or a leaky exhaust pipe. Could be related to intake manifold gasket. Somewhere, air is getting into the engine.

I suggest taking it back to the dealer under warranty. I think Hyundai is 10yr./100k for the original owner. 5yr./50k if not. Ask first if covered, and ask why not id not covered.

Car alarm randomly goes off

there is a hood switch located at front passenger side under hood. check to make sure the plunger at hood is pushing the switch completely down. sometimes there may be just enough clearance that a strong wind will set the alarm off.

Alarm Issues

I have been having this same issue for the past 6 months. So far no one can give me an answer that solves the problem. I have done several things unsuccessfully 1) changed the battery (still happens) 2) flipped the valet toggle switch under the steering column (still happens) 3) I lock the doors using the automatic lock button on the driver and/or passenger door (the alarm will not self-activate and go off, but this still doesn't solve the root problem with the alarm)

My 2006 hyundai sonata alarm keeps going off

One word:

Dealer.

Next time just disconnect the battery until you get it towed as this is a warranty item. I'll bet some wondered if this was a prank question like I did, right?
