Hyundai sonata 2004 doors unlock, light and alarm come on

In cold weather, usually in the middle of the night, the door lock disengages and the door ajar light turns on, and usually the alarm goes off. If I don't go out and shut the door tightly, the light may stay on all night without my knowledge and in the morning the battery is dead. What is this???

SOURCE: disarm alarm on a 2004 sonata

If you use your keyfob to lock the doors, it will activate the alarm, and you will need to unlock with the keyfob. If you lock the doors with the lock button on the inside of the door, it should not activate the alarm.

Hi

Make sure all door switches are functioning properly. See that each switch pushes in and out, without sticking.

i would suggest you recharge the battery overnight, this should stop the hazzard lights activating as they do when battery level is too low.

My 2003 Hyundai Sonata Door locks will not lock using

I have exactly the same problem. Keyfob will unlock the doors, but will only arm the alarm once the doors have been locked manually. Central locking button on driver side door no longer works, but I hear the clicking sound you're referring to.
I took it to a mechanic, and he seemed pretty sure it was a bad master window / door lock switch. The price he quoted to replace it was $255 plus tax, and I could never bite the bullet and pay for the work, so I've just been living with the problem.
Have you solved your situation yet?

The electric door lock won't disengage on the drivers side door. My grandson was playing with it, locking and unlocking repeatedly.

Apparently he burned out the 'current limiter' in the door lock/unlock actuator... it will need to be replaced.
