I have a 1992 Lexus SC 400. When I picked it up form the car wash today, I couldn't open the driver side door from the outside. I really didn't think about it until I got home and looked at it in more detail. The door will open from the inside but not the outside. Is it possible to repair this myself?
I was having the same problem with my 95 Lexus. When I removed the door panel and looked inside I was able to see the small rod that attaches to the outside handle was not connected. I tried to snap it back in but it wouldn't stay so I pulled the rod over where I could see that the small plastic part on the end of the rod that holds it in place had one side snapped off. Should be easy to fix once I locate the part. Just did this today and haven't looked for the part yet.
You all need a new door handle.

there are at least 2 relays that operate the headlamps
one to power the low beams
and one to switch to high beams
check all fuses first
locate low beam relay
feel the relay does it click or tick when the low beams are turned on?
92 may have a running lamp relay that turns low beams on when driving

I also can not open my door on passenger side from outside, but can from inside. Any suggestions?
I have the same problem. My 1995 Lexus SC400 passenger door will not open from the outside but will open from the inside. Also the passenger door will not lock or unlock from the drivers side door lock, which is ok since the door will not open anyway.
I have a 1995 Lexus SC400. The passenger door will not oper from the outside but will from the inside. The passenger door will also not lock from the drivers side door lock. However the door when locked from the passenger side will not open from either the inside or the outside, as normal.
Neither of the front doors of my 1991 Lexus 250SE will open from the outside. Both stopped opening on the same day. They will open from the inside but not from the outside, even with a key.
