Vibration when I accelerate in my 2003 Audi A4 1.8T

When I accelerate in my 2003 Audi A4 1.8T I can feel a vibration on the pedal that I had never felt before. When I get it up to 55mph the vibration is prominent and I can hear a humming sound from the engine. This happened after my min oil light came on and the oil has now been changed.

    Have exactly the same car with the same problem at the moment. Have driven it for 78k miles now and noticed that since the low oil level light has come on, which I then got 'fixed' via a service, the car is sounding a lot rougher than usual and can feel it vibrating through the throttle pedal.



    Need to take the car back as the warning light is still coming on when driven hard. Garage thought it was a oil pressure switch that was causing the problem and replaced it. Now not so sure.

    I got the axil changed and it started running smoothly again! I had the EXACT same problem

If car shakes whilst acelerating and goes off when you let you foot off throttle then could well be a drive shaft cv joint

A vibration when accelerating is almost always related to drive train. Check the U-joints to make certain that the bolts are in place and snug. If so, then pull the axle and manipulate them, just don't let a caps fall off. If it does, you will probably have to replace the joint.

1. Check the ball-joint.

2. Check the Tye-rods.

3. Your shock absorbers/ struts.

4. Wheel balancing and alignment.

Vibration on the floor underneath gas pedal
I would venture to say your exhaust is hitting your frame, or, you may need new motor mounts. The exhaust is what I would lean toward. If you can imagine your exhaust sitting under your vehicle, and the fact that the vehicle has a little age, the motor mounts probably give a little, causing the motor to move slightly on acceleration and deceleration, thus your exhaust is going to move, and may be vibrating on whatever its touching. Where do you feel the vibration? if you feel it where you sit it is coming from back which is usually rear brakes. If you feel the vibration in your feet and hands it is coming from the front which could be your ABS or front brakes.

Wobbling of car while accelerating
the u joints in the drive shaft. (CV joints on front wheel drive) more strss on the joints when accelerating so they cause the vibration. no stress/load smooth run. Replace the joints and you'll feel a big difference.
