take off the cover and replace them. if you have a volt/ohm meter you can put if on the car side and make sure you have voltage and the ohm meter on the buldb should give a 1 rating if its good. it would be the cheapest and easiest to just get a new bulb and see if it works then start checking fuses if its not the bulb.

SOURCE: need to replace the left front wheel bearing on my wife's car

Too bad I am not at work I could call on a price for a bearing. To be honest that is not too bad of a price on a bearing installed. Most Jag parts need to be purchased from Jag. A typical price for a sealed hub bearing unit is about $140 retail for a chevy corsica(just did 2 on one on monday) to about $300-400 on a ford super duty. and that is not including labor. You need air tools, a torque wrench and lock tight thread locker for this job. And something to remove any corrosion from mounting surfaces
1. jack up car, take wheel off.
2. remove brake caliper
3.remove rotor
4.remove whats holding bearing on. Either one big nut on outside or three to four bolts that hold it to the knukle.
this is how most cars are now,if its rear wheel drive its a peice of cake ,fwd is a little more difficult.

SOURCE: how to replace rear wheel bearing on s type jaguar v reg

pretty basic the same and any other wheel bearing. But you need a hydraulic press, if you dont have one of those then their is just no way that you will be able to do it.

If it is newer than an 05 you need to take it to the dealership, because they need to hook up their computer and electronically disengage the rear parking brakes by putting it into service mode.

SOURCE: Cruise control unavailable--x type Jaguar

I had the same problem and found that the PCV breather hose was leaking, creating the vacuum leak. The codes for the error have translated to "bank 1 too lean, and bank 2 too lean." Start with the PCV breather hose and see if that doesn't fix it. You will also have to reset the computer afterwards to get rid of the error.

I had a friend replace my front wheel bering so and now my abs light is on and my cruise control doesn't work. Computer says I need to replace my left wheel bering. Is there something that came unplug

If the wheel bearing was a press in type, it could be installed backwards. One side of the press in type is magnetic and must face the sensor.

Recently had a front wheel collapse onmy s type jaguar ive had it fixed but the DSC light is on and ABS is coming on under breaking on drivers side front wheel any ideas

the jaguar front wheel bearing comes complete with a abs sensor and bearing cover if someone has removed the cover it sounds like the air gap between sensor and the reluctor ring is to great or has someone renewed just bearing and not the hub unit like you are ment to do? have a good look at the rear of the bearing cover.

Hi I have a 2004 X-Type 2.5 litre petrol. The ABS light has come on and the cruise control wont engage. Any ideas as to what the problem is and how I might fix it ?

on the drive shafts of all four wheels ,or the bearings are toothed wheels and one of them may be loose ,or on the back of the bearing seal is a grey coloured paint like material well if this is damaged it will not work ,sorry i cannot give you a nice quick fixya answer but this is a very technical thing and must be taken one step at a time check this out first and then reply and i will explain step two --testing the sensors .If this is a europeon market vehicle then just plugging a OBDII reader in will not work as its all encrypted software

I have a Jaguar X Type 2002 2.5V6 AWD I left the car unused for 4 weeks whilst away, on return the speedometer and cruise control do not work, also the ABS and engine management light are permantly...

Hello. This tends to be all to do with the ABS. Some models have a reluctor ring on each cv joint near the wheel which looks like a castle moulding, but on mine there is a magnetic strip in the wheel bearing and mine corroded which reduced the signal. This caused the abs light and engine management light to come on. Without abs you cannot use the cruise control. It's not an expensive job to replace the bearing or to replace the cv joint if you have the reluctor ring but beware the dealers will try and sell you a whole drive shaft and this is not needed.

ABS Light Lit, Engine Light Lit - Cruise Control Not operating

I would check the ABS sensors on both sides. Those are wires that fit on all wheels to give signal to the ECU for proper functioning of the car. They might just put back the old ones for you . and they should have ben replaces

ABS Light Lit, Engine Light Lit - Cruise Control Not operating

sounds like to me its a abs sensor or reluctor ring problem the 2 main culprits are the front abs sensor link leads one maybe open circuit or the rear driveshaft reluctor is corroded and broken you need to get the fault codes out to help decide which i would check the reluctor rings first if you look carefully at the rings with a torch and probe with a small screwdriver between the rear driveshaft joint and the hub carrier you may find the reluctor ring is adrift
