your owners manual ha maintenance schedule --dont have do online search for it usually can find a free download -- if want a service / repair manual auto stores online search
they are both right it depends on the year of the vehicle older models are behind the glove box but my manual only goes to 2000 so iam cannot help here ,keep looking and you will find them
Most larger parts stores carry either chilton or haynes manuals. They are far from perfect and their wiring diagrams are pretty much junk, but overall the do have enough info for most basic and some not so basic repairs. Chilton also offers a download for pay which is better but unless you are doing major complex repair work, likely you won't need it.
I think you should go for manual first after that it will be easy for u to solve your problem. I had visited this site past 2 months before for my vehicle and find it quite helpful may be you will also get something useful here 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee Service Repair Workshop Manual INSTANT DOWNLOAD
If you are buying from a dealer have it checked and inspected. If you are buying from a private seller ask to drive it and take it to Advanced Auto or another store and have the free computer check ran on it. If trouble codes pop up you may want to reconsider unless they are easy fix items. I myself had a 1996 Laredo and had minimal maitinence on it with 197k on the vehicle. Hope this helps. Stephen
