Walk out to the vehicle with a new battery in the key fob and press the lock AND unlock button at the same time while you stand close to the vehicle for 7 seconds. You will hear the doors go thru a lock and unlock cycle, your fob is now programmed. This will sync existing programmed controllers, security sync. to program new remotes:In the trunk, connected to the wireless remote controller (driver side on wheel well, need to remove 'mat') is an empty connector with 2 wires connected. short the two connector pins. The locks will all cycle. Press and hold lock/unlock buttons on remote until locks cycle on/off. repeat for other remotes. Remove short across connector pins. Test new remote(s).Warning:existing remotes are deprogrammed, only remotes programmed will work from now on.This worked on my 1998 Cavalier. Be sure battries in new remote(s) are good! Answer Locate the data link connector under the dash (under the steering column). Ground out pin #8 of the DLC (top right port) with a jumper wire to any piece of metal close by (I use the e brake hardware). The door locks will then lock & unlock to let you know you are in the programming mode. Simultaneously press & hold the lock & unlock button on one of the keyless entries until the locks cycle (this lets you know the transmitter has been programmed). Repeat this step for your second transmitter. You must reprogram the 2nd transmitter within 60 seconds of programming the 1st one or you have to start over. Note
If your vehicle accepted the programming codes, then it tells me that your vehicle sensing is working and that your remote worked at least during that period.
Whenever, you change batteries in a remote you should clean the battery and remote contacts with a pencil eraser to get rid of an corrosion.
{: ) Try to reprogram your remote transmitter again. If you have two or more remote transmitters, they should be programmed at the same time (in one session only). Otherwise you may need to replace and reprogram your remote control receiver.
Sorry , but you need to take it to a GM dealer ! They need to go into the computer an turn that option on with factroy scan tool . Had to do samething to get speed control to work on 2006 chevy cobalt . BCM - body control module function .
No. turn the key to the on position (not run). In your driver Information Center you should have an option to program your keyless entry. Access this option through your steering wheel controls. There are two buttons. One is a page button and the other is a select button. It will guide you to the reprogramming just make sure you do both remotes at the same time unless you only have one remote. When you are prompted to begin programming hold the lock and unlock buttons at the same time on the first remote and wait for it to program. Then do the second remote the same way. When you are done turn the key off then start the engine and confirm they work.
The only way to program a transmitter is with a scan tool.If you have more than one transmitter then you have to program them both or if you program one the other one will not work. They do this at the dealership but if you are just replacing the batteries then you should not have to program the remotes.Hope this helps.Good luck.
