SOURCE: Check engine light comes on. p0171 and p0351 codes found

From Lusty Kid:

I know the economy is bad, but change all of the plugs. Check your PCV Valve hose, 150 rottens them out allowing air to be sucked in, thus all kinds of codes.

Depending on mileage. Dismount the EGR valve and clean passages. If you are really good dismount the throtle position sensor body and clean out passages with Choke Cleaner., dismount where the EGR valves connects to the engine, clean out passages. Also check the hose thats behind this mounting to ensure is not clogged. If clogged clean it out. If not replace it. Is about 1.5 ft. long, connects to the PCV Valve Hose.

When is the last time you change your harness. Can't remember??? Replace it. Good Luck

There could be many issues. These codes read your engine is running too lean. Check : all your vacuum hoses for leaks, PCV valve and hose, MAF sensor. This may require an experienced technician to figure this out. Hopefully I help'd!!

SOURCE: 2005 Ford Taurus SE 3.0L V6 OBD Codes P0171 and P0174

The P0420 code is a Catalytic converter efficiency code check the compression.Swap the #1 injector to a different location to see if the code follows.Test the coilpak. A cracked exhaust manifold is the most likely cause p0171 and 0174 Induction air leaks, vacuum or some kind fuel restriction, weak fuel pump, restricted fuel filter etc.You also could have an exhaust leak near the upstream o2 sensor. If youtake it in they will probably use smoke to find out where the leak is.

SOURCE: codes p2106

I think you'll find it's a problem with your throttle you might need to talk to you local ford dealer but don't get talked into getting bit's replaced! I've been tld that you can put a recommended cleaner into your fuel tank and this can sometimes cure the problem - worth a go................

2006 Ford Five-Hundred. ODBII: P0171, P0174, P061B, P2106

I suggest check the easy things first. Vacuum lines, could cause a lean condition, fuel filter restricting the fuel flow lean condition. Carefully clean throttle body with proper cleaner. I'm a shade tree mechanic but these simple things work sometimes. You didn't mention if you have the cvt trans. If you do and you are going 75 80 on the highway coming to a hill will cause it to race that high. Then when the hill is crested it will slow down, I don't like it either but it is the nature of the beast. I often cancel the cruise on big hills on the highway so it doesn't do that.

P061B, P2106, when vehicle was in drive i steped on the breaks and the car continued to roll.

Those codes have NOTHING to do with the abs system. P061B is internal control module torque calculation performance, and P2106 is throttle actuator control system - forced limited power. The issue is a dirty or failing throttle body.

Fault codes P0355, P0171, P0174 on ford expedition 2001 what do i need to fix

The P0355 code is, "Ignition Coil E Primary/Secondary Circuit Malfunction" this has to do with the coil(s) and the coil may be going bad, or you have a bad wire / plug (connection) to the coil. P0171 is "System Too Lean (Bank 1)" and P0174 is " System Too Lean (Bank 2)" . The P017X codes mean your ox2 sensors are picking up a lean burn condition. Engine running to warm (hot) or your coolant temp sensor is not reading right or one of the ox2 sensors (Bank 1) is going bad. Hard to trouble shoot this from my computer desk.

Please could you explain these codes PO61B and P2106 in Ford Crown Victoria. My name Steve Thanks.

PO2106 Throttle Actuator Control System
PO061 O2 Sensor Heater Resistance (Bank 2 Sensor 3)
A PZEV Vehicle will have 3 O2 Sensors

I'am guessing you have a 4 cyl.

I'am also going to suggest that,if your
vehicle is like most fords with COP Ignition
Coils ,that your only problem is misfires

After that, a slight chance you have a bad
O2 Sensor
Do not replace anything, unless you have only
1 coil code. Them just do that coil

Anything else get help

Not a dealer, why waste your money and be
pitched all kinds of stuff

I have replaced the port seals, isolater bolts, cleaned the EGR ports, plugs and wires, and chanced the air filter. I was getting both 171 and 174 codes. Now after 60 miles or so, pulled the codes again...

P0171 is a lean fuel condition . The computer reflashed has nothing to do with it . Vacuum leak intake manifold probably . If both P0171 & P0174 were back could be fuel pump low flow or restricted fuel filter . or O2 sensor problem or mass airflow sensor. Suggest you take it to a qualified repair shop to have it diagnosed .

Need definition of trouble codes for 05 ford freestyle codes are p0174 p016B p0171 p2106

p0171 is a lean code,,for bank number 1 p0174 same thing but for bank number 2
P016B - Closed Loop Air/Fuel Ratio Control at Limit - System Too Rich p0176 flex fuel sensor (ouch , they are expensive ) as far as the 2106 code, this is a messy one,, its some sort of internal Ford code that has to do with the throttle body , Ive read numerous forums on this code,, and It usually shows up with others that match ,, yours doesn't seem to coincide with that,, if your in a town with a autozone, they will check your codes for you and have the breakdown of them in each store
