My 91 accord lx is having problems starting, after about four or five tries it starts and then chokes and dies out. Once I try to start it again it stays on. I replaced the dist cap, rotor, spark plugs and wires. I replaced the main relay and it still doing the same thing. My check engine light stays on until I turn the car off of course.

sounds as if the wires on the fuel pump are unplugged or broken,or maybe a bad fuse, fuel pump relay.

Do not waste money on dist cap and wires at this point. The problem is more likly in the ignition primary curcuit. Meaning anywhere from the distributor primary impulse detecftor to the computer that manages the timing of this primary curcuit that ultimatly goes to the ingition coil. It will be more cost effective to go to a shop that has the product specific information and diagnostic tools to sort out this problem.
good luck

either have a shop scan it for trouble codes or buy a scanner your self at local parts store have OBDII scanner and find out for your self it could be a number of things.

It may be the O2 sensor. I know it's not the fuel filter, spark plugs, spark plug wires, Vehicle Speed Sensor, Dis. cap, or TCM.

Could be the ignition coil or ignition module. Also check the ignition fuse.
