This usually works.
Take a rubber hammer, roll down the window, then manually unlock the door using the inside unlock button (not the power lock button) while you give the door a good whack about half way down where the door lock assembly holds the door closed to the car body.It may take a few whacks and a few lock/unlock cycles but this usually allows the lock to release and you can open the door.NOW.....take off the door panel and lube that lock assembly and don't close the door unless the lock can be locked and UNLOCKED.
it look like you have wires cut between the driver door where the door open
there is a boot remove it and there you go the problem is there
hope it helps
There is a rubber boot that goes from the body to the door. Inside that boot there are the wires for speakers locks windows, etc. If the power window wire is pinched or partially cut then that would be your fix. Your Main window switch that can control all the windows from the driver's seat is that hub for all the power that goes to each other door and window as far as power windows is concerned. Not sure as to why both front doors would have to be opened to open the front windows. If both doors are having a problem then you may have a problem inside the wiring boot in between the body and each door so check both. This is a common problem with a lot of vehicles with power windows. Good Luck.
I have a Pontiac grand prix that my passenger rear window wont roll up, i need to get the window to close atleast temporarily until i can get the problem looked at. I have taken the door apart and tried pushing it up, but it wont go as much as i have tried. Any advise would be great right about now. thanks
My child locks do the same thing, but I dont have problems with the windows. My locks show that they are off, but passengers cannot open the doors from the inside. HOpefully, someone can help us both!
i dont know if ur door is electric or manual.as for the door not opening from the inside it could be a rod has come off from the inside of the door to the handle you have to take inside door panel off and have a look.
The rear window has to be completely down in order to move the tailgate! You should be happy that your window is stuck up, unlike mine which is stuck all the way down! I have to completly take apart my tailgate!! If you want to try a trick to get the rear window down, my bronco has a rear window switch right next to the headlight knob, take the 2 purple wires on that window switch, and cross them, if your motor still works and if the wires are good, that should make the window go down!!! good luck, hope that helps!
