Gearbox proplem Dear sir/madam. ı am wrıtıng from cyprus. ı have one of ısuzu bıghorn 1996 model and thıs car ıs A/T .Thıs tranmıtıon 4 speed . some tıme ıs engage a gear 4. Make sure battery has a full charge and connections all good. If it cranks good but won't start, have a helper crank it, if cranking rpms sound faster than normal, you may not have any cylinder compression, check compression. Check spark at the plugs--proper fuel pressure--fuel injector pulse? Any applicable trouble codes? Hope the over-heating didn't damage your engine?

it is a torque converter problem not a gearbox problem
it contains oil also if it lost no power transfer between engine and gearbox could be th oil sealing of your converter

Is this the vehicle speed sensor? This one is mounted on top of the gearbox.

If the SU2142 is the engine Speed sensor, it is mounted on the cylinder head near the camshaft sprockets.

What dose it do, as the radiator and all pipes have to be changed and was the convertor taken off the box when you took the box out of the other car and if so was it drained and was the bands checked out that the Forwards and reverse plus the correct oil to be used when filled.
1st jack up and put in Park can you turn the wheels NO,, good now select D can you turn the wheels now
Yes so the bands inside could be your problem.

i thik , you have to go an good shop for check your gearbox before to buy any, a new gearbox its already $ 5000 and maybe is a small problem
