MY SUBARU ALWAYS STARTED RIGHT UP AND HAD PLENTY OF POWER, A FEW DAYS AGO, i LET A FRIEND BORROW IT AND SHE ALMOST RUN IT OUT OF OIL. SINCE THEN, NOT ONLY DOES IT NOT WANT TO START , IT RUNS ROUGH AND HAS NO POWER.I CHECKED ALL FLUIDS AND SPARK PLUGS. i'M WONDERING IF THESE SYMPTOMS ARE THE RESULT OF ALMOST RUNNING OUT OF OIL OR IF ITS POSIBLE IT COULD BE SOMETHING ELSE. ANY HELP OR SUGGESTIONS WOULD BE GREATLY APPRICIATED. THANKS, SCOTT
The car should not have run out of oil in one day. If the low oil light came on I don't understand how all the fluild levels were OK. My suggestion would be to change the oil and filter, and to use an oil pan flush just before you drain the old oil. You may also need to change the PCV valve and clean the intake and especially the idle air control valve. If its really a sludgy oil problem sometimes adding Marvel's Mystery Oil can free a stuck piston ring and relieve oil consumption and performance problems but you say the spark plugs look good, which implies you are not buring oil.
If you meant she ran the car almost or totally out of fuel, then change the fuel filter and use some injector cleaner in the tank.

If it were a large leak, the vehicle would idle fast, then the iac would reduce to stabilize the issue. We have had a few units needing the tank system smoked. Was this a part of the smoke job you received?? There is a bleed or purge valve in the rear which is hard to smoke and tell if it is defective. With out the entire values, it would be very difficult to diagnose over the net.
Good luck
Clean your MAF sensor and throttle body. If it's dirty it will send wrong voltage to ECU, running either too lean or too rich, most likely too rich and flooded the fuel injectors.
i would check the idle air control solenoid first. simply unplug it then remove the unit and inspect the air passage for any blockage and carbon buildup. Clean it if its dirty then test it out. If the IAC is good then you should look at the throttle position sensor.
Did they check to see if any reprogramming or up dated software for the PCM is avilable ? Sometime computer gliches will cause problems an the dealer can do a reflash to fix the problem . Did they look at TSB - technical service bulletin .You could go to the GM TDS web site an enter your vehicle ID # or VIN an it will tell you if any updated software is available . Also could have a lose or corroded connection ,body grounds etc.... How to Program and Reprogram OBD 2 Modules Example Code P0326 Knock Sensor
may not be the same but my one would not idle and run like a pig. checked the valve gaps in the end and the exhaust valves had closed up adjusted them and she now runs like a dream..
try adjusting the throttle cable, its a case of loosening a nut, pulling the cable through a bit more and then tightening it back up, you find it on the right hand side of the engine block close to the exhaust manifold.
