1997 CHEVY PU STEERING ****

WHILE DRIVEING FOR NO APPARENT REASON THE STEERING WHEEL PERIODICALY JERKS TO THE RIGHT, NOT EVERYTIME YOU DRIVE IT, ONLY ONCE IN A WHILE Steering will just jump either directon during long curves on the highway. It has done it since i bought it in 2003. I just read that it has speed adjusted power steering. This may be a bad sensor.

When you have problems as dangerous as this described , take it to an accredited power steering professional shop and have it properly diagnosed
a "fix" by a local mechanic may just lull you onto a false sense of security that will be disastrous at the wrong time

2006 HHR LT remote start and power steering not working

I recently saw on the news that some models were being recalled for a faulty ignition switch. (Where the key goes.) It happens for no apparent reason and kills the engine and locks the steering wheel. They said only 1 accident has occurred but imagine it happening at 60 miles per hour. You should call and see if your model is one of the bad ones.
