2002 BMW 735i Logo

2002 BMW 735i has lost power while sat still. We moved house, got here, parked the car, emptied it, locked it. An hour later went back and it wouldn't unlock! In the end one of the passenger doors was open so I could get in but it has no power. Interior door lights were kind of flashing as where the led's for the seat adjustment. I tried charging the battery but nothing. It's dead. Any ideas?

Sounds like a dead battery, as in time to replace it.

SOURCE: Locked out

Connect jumper cables to the starter connection which should be visible under the car, hot to the bolted battery cable connection, negative to any ground. Connect the other end to a battery after you have crawled out from under the car.  Also consider; my BMW had the battery in the trunk, which should open with a key.

SOURCE: Battery is dead. Doors are locked. Can't get into car.

I m a locksmith and had the same problem

What you do is:

HOld The handle up while you turn the key to the opening direction, it will feel as though it may bend the key but it will not.

keep pulling the handle until the button pops up it works I did it

SOURCE: 2002 BMW 325 - key locked in trunk

There are several suggestions out there on how to retrieve BMW keys from the trunk. Many of the ways I tried failed, and it takes 2 to 3 days to get a new key made up. In the coupe there is the center piece in the back seat that folds down. Then on the back wall there is material that will fold down that is held up with Velcro. Behind that you will find a rubber insulation that is mostly cut and looks like a door, but not all the way. Carefully cut the rubber to remove the piece. Now you will find a metal wall, but there is a large piece that is tack welded on. I got turned around and kicked it with the bottom of my foot and got 3 sides loose. Then a softball bat knocked the final side loose. Pull that out and trash it, the final barrier is the insulation that is held in place with plastic clips that can just be pushed down. After that you can a pretty large hole to work through and get the keys. Just put everything back in place other than the metal plate and you will never know anything was done.

SOURCE: 1994 BMW 740il - Doors will not unlock, battery is dead

try this, put the key in the drivers side door then turn the key to open position as th same time lift up the door handle . if this does not work then jack up the car , and with jumper cables hooked them to the starter--red to solinod of starter and the ground to any good ground.then hook the other end to another vehicle.keep in mind all the safety precautions! Then try the door with the key in normal operation.Your battwery is dead.!

Grounding faults (poor or missing ground from engine to frame/ battery to frame) would be the first thing I would check. Use an Ohm meter to check to see if you have solid grounds to all the critical points. A bad ground will make your electronics go nuts.

You'll need a helper for this. Refill the reservoir.
**Keep the blazer in park with the E brake on.**
It might help if you raise the front end onto axle stands. Run the engine so the power steering is active. Get you helper to turn the steering from lock to lock, hard left to hard right and back again. Do this 2 or 3 times. While they do this have a look at all the pipe work you can see, WEAR SAFETY GOGGLES if your under the car. Working the steering will show where the system is leaking.

BMW Z4 will not move, seems like parking brake is still on?

Will the car roll? Put in neutral and try moving it? If not, your brakes might be the issue. Was the emergency brake on while stored? If it was, it is probably is locked in place. Your brake light wouldn't be on if this is what the problem is. Let me know how u make out.
